My daughter was just screaming in her bedroom and I thought someone died.. or at least a big spider. But no, @NASA just dropped this banger trailer.

If my partner spent all evening hanging with 3 separate groups of his buds instead of me after I made him a chicken pot pie for dinner I would probably cheat
when he sang medicine at coachella, an unreleased song that had 100k people screaming ‘TASTED’… ‘RIDE IT’. his ability to command an audience is no joke oh harry styles no one compares to you
“I don’t understand why women don’t just report it if it really happened.”
When I was 19, I reported mine. I had bruises. Hospital photos. Text messages of him apologizing the next morning. My friends drove me to the station because I could barely stop shaking. I thought evidence would make it simple. I thought truth would be enough.
Months later, I was the one on trial. His lawyer printed my Instagram photos and held them up in court. Asked why I wore crop tops. Asked why I drank that night. Asked why I didn’t scream louder. He replayed my police interview and pointed out every time I hesitated, every time I cried, every time my timeline wasn’t perfectly linear. “If it was traumatic,” he said, “why can’t she remember clearly?”
Sitting there while strangers debated my pain like it was a group project felt like being stripped again. My messages were projected on a screen. My body was described in detail. My character was picked apart like that was the real crime.
He walked out on bail. I walked out with panic attacks.
That’s why some women don’t report. Because even with bruises. Even with screenshots. Even when you do everything “right.” You still have to survive the assault twice, once in private, and once in public, just to maybe be believed.
@TheMrWavvy@byspencerthomas Honestly I would not! I just got back from taking my 4yo son (who is generally really good with tense/suspense) and felt very blindsided by the amount of scary scenes and topics in it. There are multiple scenes towards the end that literally could be from a horror movie.
this moment in Connor Storrie's SNL monologue was so sweet:
Connor: "My show speaks to people who are not always represented in hockey, so this is really great to actually hockey legends tonight."
Men's US team: "Thanks. The last time the men did that was 46 years ago."
Women's US team: "And the last time we did that was two whole Olympics ago."
league is adding voice chat and men are really acting confused about why women don't want it
like we haven't been playing valorant, overwatch, and CS for years
like we don't already know exactly what's going to happen
the second you speak it's one of three things:
"oh shit a girl, add me after"
"oh shit a girl, gg go next"
or just straight up harassment
there's no other option
men act like we're being dramatic but we've lived this in every game with voice
we know the script
we know how it goes
and the funniest part is men swearing "just mute them"
we've been muting OUR entire existence in YOUR games
we play better when you don't know we're here
because the second you know
suddenly every mistake is because we're a girl
every loss is our fault
every play we make gets questioned
even when we're carrying
even when we're higher rank
even when we're just better
it doesn't matter
because even when we play at a man's best, we need to play 10x better than that for it to mean something
we spoke in voice so now we're a "boosted egirl"
men really think voice chat will improve communication
meanwhile women have been communicating fine with pings for 15 years
we learned the entire ping system
we learned to type fast between plays
we learned to shotcall without ever speaking
because we had to
and now men want us to just "give voice a try"
like we haven't already tried in every other game
like we don't already know
that the second we speak half the lobby focuses more on our voice than the game
either trying to impress us
or trying to run us off the platform
there's no in between
so yeah we're not excited about voice chat
not because we're shy
because we're tired
tired of proving we deserve to be here
tired of the "damn you're good for a girl"
tired of getting friend requests after one good game
tired of callouts turning into flirting
we just want to play the game
but men can't let that happen
they have to make it about us being women
every single time
so we'll keep voice off
we'll keep pinging
we'll keep carrying silently
and men will keep wondering why women don't use voice
while being exactly the reason we don't
