@RTaubofNY@NYCMayor I grew up here and we never had storms with such rapid flooding as we do now. There are plenty of idiot NYers who ignore weather predictions and get themselves into bad situations. We saw that last week!
@ashamedaustrali@keetmuise@1goodtern Me too. I’m sure my apartment building neighbors refer to me as that crazy old lady wearing a mask. But guess what? I have never had Covid. My brother had Covid and now has 2 kinds of cancer.
@ConEdison Why don’t you spend winter and spring getting ready to meet the need for power in summer? Improve your infrastructure? Then we could avoid situations like this one.
@NYCMayor The temperature in my bedroom with my ac set to 68 degrees plus 2 fans is 88 degrees. Con Ed reducing power to upper Manhattan. I hope the brave little Friedrich doesn’t die. Horrible abuse by this inept power company. Double standard for ritzy vs poor zip codes.
@NYCMayor Con Ed needs to be able to FUNCTION in a heatwave. I work at home and have 1 struggling little AC in upper Manhattan. I say make them reduce our rates for receiving a reduction in power. 8%? Liars. Fix this corruption and ineptitude.
@NYCMayor Con Ed has all year to fix its sub level infrastructure to prepare for these heat waves. Cutting power to poorer neighborhoods while that wedding at MSG won’t suffer? Are they cutting power to zip codes 10021 and 10028? My one little AC barely works and I have medical issues.
@ConEdison F You, evil conglomerate. My tiny AC is struggling in upper Manhattan but the wedding at MSG has all the power it needs, right? You won’t even take calls from the public unless it’s about an outage? You have all year to fix your infrastructure to get ready for the usual heat wave
@KatieMiller The pay and conditions are so bad that most (white) people will not take those jobs, Katie. These are the people taking care of your parents and medically needy loved ones, for normal folks, not you and your Gollum husband, of course. If you care so much, take that job.
