10 points on improving your credit score. 😊
There are lots of factors affecting credit score. You just need to take care of the ones you can. Few things I can say influenced mine are as below.
1. A Bank account opened and maintained for a long time. Each bank account have significant impact for every 3 years anniversary i.e 3, 6 etc
2. Time on electoral role. Sadly, if you move house, this resets back to zero.
3. Not missing payment on credit cards, bills or contract. For my credit cards with no promotional period, I set the direct debit to clear it monthly(gives you about 1.5 month interest free credit). For cards with interest free promotions, I set the direct debit to pay the minimum payment. (High Impact)
4. Credit utilisation of between 1%-25%. This means you do not use more than 25% credit on all your credit facilities combined. One hack about this is having a higher credit limit. I do request limit increase around twice a year for cards I frequently used. Another thing I do is get new cards when I can.
5. Avoid opening multiple accounts/ credit cards within a short period of time. General advice is to keep this to just 2 account within a 6 month period.(Low impact)
6. Where you buy things with option to repay over time( especially the interest free ones), take it! It doesn’t hurt. Make sure you set up the direct debit to clear the bill at the end of the buy now pay later period.
7. Mortgage have impact on credit score as well. Make sure you don’t miss any payment. Could be drastic for future finance applications. So go for houses you can reasonably afford. No need to impress anybody!
8. Take advantage of credit card offers. Some balance transfer or purchase cards allow you to make large purchase or move balance from an existing credit card and pay over a long period of time. This helps create a payment record as well as increase your credit limit. I often open a new balance transfer after the end of an existing one and move balances there. The old credit card with the previous offer that has ended still adds to my overall credit limit even if I don’t actively use the card. Some credit card also offers instalment plan. You will need to pay a fee but it works out cheaper than you paying interest most times.
9. Searches- when checking for products online, make sure you confirm whether it’s a soft search or hard search that they do. Soft searches have minimal to no impact on your credit score but hard searches, think carefully before proceeding.
10. Only use the credit you are reasonably comfortable of paying off. Don’t use credit card to fund risky investments, avoid withdrawing cash with your credit card (attracts fee and could create a bad signal).
May God bless Chief Allen Onyema of AirPeace and whoever came up with the beautiful idea of using Isi-agu to design Air Peace flight attendants' uniforms. I have flown on multiple airlines, and I know that airlines use the cultural outfits of their countries of origin as their air hosts and hostesses' outfits. There is nothing wrong with it.
Ethiopian Airlines will not only clothe their stunningly beautiful air hostesses in Habesha kemis, they will even speak to you via their public address system first in Amharic, before talking to you in English. Please be aware that there are over seventy ethnic groups with their own languages in Ethiopia. They cannot speak all. So they chose Amharic.
I flew with these air hostesses in the attached photo, and you can see that their headgear is unique. It reflects their country of origin.
Not only do I support Air Peace's Isi-Agu uniform, and pray for the success of the airline, but I also appeal to all my followers to patronise Air Peace in the spirit of #GrowNairaBuyNaija, except they do not fly your route.
If @flyairpeace London route had started a month back, one would have saved over £1100 on ticket for 3 booked on BA.
Sure going to be my number one option for my next trip. And yes, the crew outfit is dope. Rooting for safety, success and growth for this Nigerian airline. 🙌.
He sent several applications after losing his job at UPS with no success.
He finally got a job at a home removal company, but couldnt get transport to get him to work on his first day. So he set out to walk at around midnight to get to work for 7:45am. Life can be hard, we just have to keep pushing.
His determination is inspiring 🙌❤️❤️
