My favorite part of Baltimore Regionals was seeing a player using a United Wings deck while dressed as the Bird Keeper trainer, he even had a bird cage to carry his deck and had a plush Starly!

Real question: can you even override a game loss decided by judges? Because if the answer is no, why are we blaming players for a system they don't control?

Also - people keep saying "competitive integrity" means playing the turn out to the very last prize card. But let’s be real, this 100% wouldn’t have been an issue at a table in the back of the room.

A player pops off for five seconds on stream, then goes back and finishes the interaction. Game over.

The only reason this became a "violation" is because TPCI treats their stream like a sanitized TV show. They want the hype of the big draw, but they punish the human reaction that comes with it. TPCI needs to decide if the stream is for celebrating the game or for enforcing corporate optics at the cost of the actual result.

This is why Pokémon TCG will never be a true e-sport.

@aleksander_301 In 2013 most ppl couldn't care less to play optimally. events were free entry, prizing was boosters & t-shirts. Regs now cost ~$90 to enter and current prizing is life changing $ for some. Players are pushed to bend the rules to eek out an advantage. Need VERY concrete rules.

@LSXYZ9 freemium games (fortnite, roblox) are huge with kids. all card games require some level of upfront financial commitment and even the most affordable ones are still expensive. TCGs also just seem to be leaning hard into older audiences. Atm other TCG set is effective nostalgiaslop

In order to assist with traffic flow on Saturday morning, if your start time is 8:30am, please arrive between 6:30am and 7:30am. Wristband pick up begins at 6:30am on Saturday. For Juniors, Seniors and GO Trainers, please aim to arrive after 7:30am.

This will help make sure players avoid too much foot traffic when they arrive to start play on Saturday.
