Adding my support here to GC and the other former international captains. I hope the court ordered medical assessment be allowed to run its course, and that family visits continue. I hope Imran Khan is treated with the dignity anyone deserves
- FIFA made Messi complete 9 successful dribbles—the highest total by any player in a single game at this World Cup.
- The referees made Messi create 4 chances, including 2 big chances.
- FIFA apparently installed a precision scale on Messi’s right foot so he could deliver crosses with that kind of perfection.
- The referees somehow made Messi produce one of the greatest individual performances in World Cup history.
- FIFA also made Enzo Fernández strike the ball beautifully and bury it in the net.
Sure, “FIFA’s favorite.”
May FIFA and the referees keep “helping” you like they supposedly did today.
Your excuses are getting weaker with every game. Match after match, you’re only exposing your own bias and proving just how extraordinary Messi is.
Both Messi & Ronaldo fans try to prove each other toxic but both of them are super toxic and would go to any lengths to justify anything that favours them.
Twenty years ago we invaded Iraq. The war killed many innocent Iraqis and Americans. It destroyed the oldest Christian populations in the world. It cost over $1 trillion, and turned Iraq into a satellite of Iran. It was an unforced disaster, and I pray that we learn its lessons.
Shout out to Nasser Hussain, Michael Atherton and Mark Butcher for speaking up about the inequality of the Indian cricket regime and their role in world cricket on their respective platforms.
We’re a smaller podcast, these guys have higher stakes. I appreciate the effort.
Why is it difficult to accept that Pakistan's behaviour right now can only be understood in the context of India's? Sure, they're going rogue, but these things don't happen in a vacuum.
Passionate cricket fans in Pakistan expected the BCCI and the Indian team to honour the commitments they made repeatedly including during the formation of the so-called ‘Big Three’ to play bilateral cricket in Pakistan instead of conveniently hiding behind the Government of India. Fans hoped to see basic sportsmanship in this gentleman’s game like shaking hands at the toss and after the match. Pakistani supporters also expected the bare minimum of grace by accepting the trophy from the ACC President. Harsha, you and cricket fans across the world know the truth: India has politicised the game, flexing its financial muscle to dictate terms. If this is what modern sportsmanship looks like, then the future of the game should worry everyone
For years, different sports teams from India have toured Pakistan. Yet it is only the Indian cricket team that has refused to visit Pakistan for the past 20 years. ‘Kya desh bhagti sirf cricket tak limited hai? And I m sure as an expert of it u will know the spelling of HYPOCRISY!
Mixing sports with politics is stupid. And @BCCI started it *first*.
But then again, everything Indian Government, BCCI and Indians in general have done in the last 12 years, has been stupid.
This is nothing but fraudulent, hypocritical, jingoistic posturing.
If Indian Government truly cared, they would have cut ALL sporting ties with Pakistan, all business. Not this faltu nautanki they do day in and day out.
And most Indians being dhakkans of the highest order swallow this bullshit in an instant as well.
For a country claiming they don’t care about playing Pakistan, this meltdown sure is interesting. You get free points without encountering the opposition you hate, your team doesn’t have to travel unnecessary and your board can easily handle the financial hit. What’s the problem?
Decision taken by Pakistan today could genuinely alter world cricket power dynamics.
For the first time, ICC might be forced to act like a real governing body. Till now, they have mostly just managed events and distributed profits to rich boards.
If marquee games like IND vs PAK are no longer guaranteed:
• Media rights valuations will take a hit
• Broadcasters will stop overpaying for artificial hype
• ICC will be forced to actually develop the game globally
• Competitive balance and fair group draws will matter again
And that pressure might finally force real reform.
So,Big win in long time i would say.
India has long been politicising cricket. From not going to Pak for world cup even Pak had gone to India to refusing handshake, they took Pak's grace for granted. Pakistan is now giving it back to them and they are crying loud. I'd say Pak should never ever play with them again.
Where do I go to get my apology from Mark Regev, Eylon Levy, John Spencer, Alan Dershowitz, Douglas Murray, & Jonathan Conricus? All those pro-Israel pundits and government spokespersons who I debated since Oct 7 & who claimed the Gaza death toll was unreliable/inflated/fake?
