@tozdee57@WYesscots Like Swinney said don’t put words in my mouth, even though he did say the words. Swinney is treating you all for mugs, and you all gladly accept it.
John Swinney in 2001 on Henry McLeish £9,000 expenses scandal:
"You have got to be able to trust the First Minister."
Once it escalated to £36k+ Swinney said:
"People around Scotland will be staggered by the amount of money that is involved.
For the good of the Scottish parliament as a whole and the office of first minister, Mr McLeish should now resign his position."
John Swinney in 2026 on the SNP's £660,000 fundraising scandal:
"Nothing to see here, folks."
Watching Swinney's performance today at First Ministers Questions it is obvious Swinney himself is directly involved in the fraud or has deliberately covered up the fraud or both.
I think honest John and oor Nicola are going to end up in court / prison.
The SNP have learned absolutely nothing.
After presiding over the biggest political finance scandal in modern Scottish history, their response is to stitch up Holyrood's Finance Committee and put SNP politicians in charge of scrutinising SNP finances.
Running scared. Closing ranks. Marking their own homework.
Transparency for everyone else. Protection for the SNP.
