@NE_Vintage @MikeR_RAS I'm making a startup focused on this, if you want to chat about it lets DM.
We're working with tax lawyers and have some confidence + insurance around section 1256 - which is insane value for anyone using a PM winning or losing.
@MikeR_RAS They are betting on the supreme court siding with them, trumps family is invested in the platforms and the court is stacked with his supporters. That's the checkmate to all of the noise the states are making.
"How do you keep your community engaged?"
"Never thought about it."
That's most Discord servers. Nobody has a plan -- the room is either talking or it isn't.
So we built a bot that drops live scores and big plays into the channel. The game does the work.
@tphillips@AlexH_Johnson Yeah - and probably hedging that there is a 50% chance they can fall back into legalized sports betting if laws don't go their way.
1st pass -> CSV transaction files processed by Claude.
2nd pass -> answer questions & Claude uses the MCPs to fact check.
3rd pass -> sent to my accountants for review and tax filing.
Who else hates QuickBooks?
I figured out how to delete it. Now I have more time & money.
My stack: Ramp has 99% of the spend. Mercury's API checks the cash. Rippling has no API, so Claude drives the website.
My theory on AI-generated frontends: don't read every line. Enforce structure with hooks and linters, then auto-generate a page showing every component and variant.
Built one for Realize (https://t.co/gRzKgZxXXL). Like Storybook, but not.
Would love to hear what's working for others.
“Yes, limit orders are significantly cheaper on Kalshi, but only if they act as "maker" orders. If your limit order does not match immediately and sits on the order book as a resting order, your fees are up to 4 times lower than standard market/taker orders, and on many specific markets, they are entirely free.”
Again I’m not arguing about the mechanism, I’m arguing that it’s impossible on a sportsbook.
Personally I’m a small trader - but I’ll make limit orders with an expiration set all of the time.
For example, I’m watching the soccer game and I think that nobody is gonna score in a while, but I do think that by the end of the game somebody will so I place a limit order at better odds and I wait. I don’t even want it at the current price and I’m more than happy to get the trade for free and for better odds.
@AlexH_Johnson I'd actually push back on that, fees are as much as 6 times lower, super transparent pricing, and the chart view is so successful that sportsbooks have copied it.
The ability to make markets is not hard for those who want it. Sports books provide no such ability. Just place a limit order. From my understanding as well that without market making the fees average around 3%, where the vig on a typical sports book is 5%.
The transparent pricing at least in my mind is from a very Normy take, I can see the market moving, and I can see the trades that people have made, and that people want to make. I have found the experience much more intuitive, and I find myself live trading over placing a bet before the game now due to the clarity. I think it’s worth clarifying that to me when I meant pricing here, it’s not fees, it’s watching the market fluctuate.
College football is live in our Discord scores bot, ahead of week one.
Had the @BTR_Pod podcast ask for it, season is coming soon.
We're at over 275 servers using the app, with over 50k users reached.
Check it out here if you are interested: https://t.co/25Xe6W0xiF
Every morning an AI assistant I built scans sixteen sources -- both inboxes, calendar, Notion, Discord, WhatsApp, even my physical mail -- into one work list.
For each item it gives me multiple choice on what to do.
Might make it a Claude plugin. Let me know if you'd want it.
The hard part of building in public isn't posting. It's remembering everything you did.
Built a thing that reads my commits and work log, then drafts the post.
Blocks it if it finds a customer name or a sensitive figure.
But it lets me share more than I ever could have before.
@TheDannyClassic I created https://t.co/w3rh0QwjXI, sorry that we miss-tracked some of your bets, would you mind DM'ing me with the issue so i can improve code to ensure it doesn't happen again?
