I'm going to delete this twitter account too, I just can't keep up w/ it and my others. If you're interested in continuing to engage, follow my civilian handle, @pehenne- it's mostly Middle East politics&religion w/ some D&D and guitar stuff thrown in. And I'll follow you back
@BlindTemple maybe, but in my experience dice-fudging is often a way to dominate or showboat. One person always succeeds on checks, hits the monster, while others fail.
Star Wars: AOR tonight! The squad of Rebel operatives needs to extract the Rebel commandos from an Imperial base (while dealing w a surprise obstacle...) and fly out through an orbital battle w/ only...3 points left on their hull trauma threshold. Should be fun.
writing a new Star Wars: AoR adventure. This one is pretty linear, most are mini-sandboxes. It's so much easier prepping a linear adventure, why do I always give my players so much choice? #RPG
well, my announcement about shutting down the blog got no reaction. Guess that validates my decision. But I'll still follow all the great #dnd chats on Twitter.
so I'm thinking of suspending the blog. I've been doing it for a few years&it hasn't really taken off. Part is the content, but it also seems like blogs have been supplanted by streaming, podcasts, which aren't my thing. Also getting busier, so harder to write just for "fun."
"At the bottom of my bag of holding you'll find a page about that shadowy place with the pain."
Oh... okay😅
@InaMiddelkamp @TheGMJosh@naimaxx70 how about you guys?
@terminallynerdy I wonder if I'm the only person who preferred ME1. I know ME2 was superior in terms of expansiveness and gameplay, but the story was so tight in ME1 it drew me in.
I've fallen behind on the blog, due to a combination of a vacation from work and an illness (nothing serious). I'm going to try and get back on top of it soon, please bear with me.
in my Star Wars: AOR game, I give a mission briefing. In the latest mission they had to drop off Rebel commandos under fire at an Imperial facility then extract them. The briefing says "you are advised to retreat to a safe location once dropping off." guess what they did?
I came down w a nasty cold last week, w a 102 fever that kept me delirious in bed. So I didn't realize I had the stub of a blog post scheduled to go, which went up w no text. Sorry for that. I'll get it out later this week.
@AxolotlCure my rule is to never say no to players. Disadvantage is one option. Can also use grapple-type rules, adding in a skill check with the attack
new post- part 4 of my @CrusaderKings walkthrough on the fate of the descendants of William the Conqueror. This week, a disinherited son regains the throne... https://t.co/pEdV420inl
replaying NWN2 as a wizard, and surprise at how powerful I am (I usually play paladin). It's harder to play a wizard, takes more maintenance&have to be careful, but I took down Lorne easily in the trial. Although I guess the hard part was prep. Either way, kind of cool.
I'm thinking about posting my Star Wars: Age of Rebellion home-brew adventures on my blog. I had a few Qs:
1. Will I get in trouble (they'll be free)
2. Is it better to post it as a blog post or as a PDF to download?
3. Will people be annoyed they have no art?
@MystyVander@CriticalRole I know this would mess up the flow, but I wish they would release each weekly episode as four or more mini-episodes, so I can consume them in pieces. I rarely have enough time to listen to the whole thing, and once I fall behind I can't catch up
as I've mentioned a few times, I'm writing a fantasy horror novel. When I began all I'd worked out was the climax, and I'm just now arriving at that part of the book. A little exciting, a little scary.
my Star Wars: AOR players took the adventure in a completely different direction than I'd intended when written. I could have said "no, that doesn't work" or railroaded them, but I tried to roll w it, and we ended up having lots of fun
