@georganneb Somehow even the Toronto mayoral election has turned into another venue for people to claim antisemitism while Israel commits a genocide. It never ends. Every issue, every election, every conversation has to be about the Jewish community
@LynneBr37562004 Brad Bradford himself would've come over, taken this man to rehab, helped him start a business all while kicking every immigrant out of the city. Oh what could've been
@Dooey635644@oliviachow She only got 37% of the vote last time, she's got 54% this time. I'd say that's pretty good. Most votes of any mayor in Toronto's history. There's no way to paint this as a loss. Sure, more work to do, but when she supports the Jewish community it's meaningful - not pandering
@ownitbaby2@johnyboy1853@WSuperfitfan@oliviachow It’s what she hasn’t done for them. She doesn’t show up for them when they need their mayor to protect them from the violence and hate. She allows Canadian flags to be burned.
@Dooey635644 But if it's legally protected, what should the response be?
I think the reality is Olivia believes what the vast majority of Canadians believe - Israel is committing a genocide. Because she has done work to address rising antisemitism and hate crimes, so that can't be it
@Dooey635644 ...You mentioned she allows Canadian flags to be burned. She has literally no choice, it's not illegal to burn Canadian flags. I'm not sure what you don't understand
@mattgurney Yes. In truth, just as the Jewish community seems to give two shits about the genocide being committed in their name, most of us Toronto residents were not putting them first
