In today’s article, Scott Florcsk, owner of the long-established .wallet/ extension on Handshake, shares his frustration following ICANN’s latest reveal of proposed gTLDs.
He discusses the potential conflict with his extension, which has been operational for years, and offers some direct advice to the Handshake community on where it should go from here.

What is happening is the majority will suffer unintended consequences of what we say and do from now on. Our texts, and calls pretty sure are monitored for words, sounds, visuals. If a regular uneasy online pattern emerges, you’ll be given a score.. all logged
My youngest daughter was ill last week with impetigo and I was trying to show my wife who’s away in Poland the spots on her body while on videocam and instantly when I pointed at my daughters body my camera stopped working and this flashed on the screen. Made me feel violated 😵💫

Your favourite chair is scratched, expensive to repair, and worth keeping.
An agent should be able to help with that without talking you into a new one.

Australia’s new Digital Duty of Care bill threatens platforms with fines of up to A$109 million if they fail to keep users “safe,” and it never defines where safe ends. Section 26A(3) even bars them from weighing the cost of compliance.
The minister says she gave up the power to define new harms. Section 25E(1)(f) still covers anything that “may cause serious harm to children,” and that list has no end.
Platforms must also switch off feeds, likes and stories for under-16s. They can only do that by checking the age of every user.
The eSafety Commissioner gets to run fake accounts under rules it writes with the federal police. It can also summon people for private questioning, and anyone who stays silent faces 12 months in prison.
The government says this is not censorship. The bill is built to produce it anyway.

Handshake names existed long before ICANN's latest applications. Should established use count when the same internet extensions are proposed in another naming system?

One name can point to two different sites.
If ICANN and Handshake return different answers, should a Handshake browser default to Handshake or ask you to choose?
