Something about the Dangote IPO and the way Nigerians dey catch cruise with Dangote trucks and all made me think 😂

You see a Dangote truck carrying fuel/cement speeding, one person go shout “Omo calm down ooo Na our investment you dey carry go!” 😂

But honestly, I think there’s something deeper in this.

Imagine say more Nigerians actually own shares in the businesses and companies around them. You might start seeing things differently because your money dey inside that business.

We dey always complain say government no maintain this, government no maintain that, government spoil this and nobody cares.

But if people’s money dey directly tied to the success and maintenance of something, I feel people go become more conscious of it.

“Na my money dey there o, abeg I no wan spoil am.” 😂

Maybe as more Nigerians become shareholders, we’ll gradually start moving from “government property” mentality to “our own property” mentality.

Because sometimes, ownership changes how you treat things. 📈🇳🇬
