My best of Dolly Parton, especially now as she leaves …
HELLO GOD
“Hello, God?
Are You out there?
Can You hear me?
Are You listenin' anymore?
Hello, God?
If we're still on speakin' terms
Can You help me like before?
I have questioned Your existence
My resistance leaves me cold
Can you help me go the distance?
Hello God?
Hello?
Hello?
This old world has gone to pieces
Can we fix it?
Is there time?
Hate and violence just increases
We're so selfish, cruel, and blind
We fight and kill each other
In Your name defending You
Do You love some more than others?
We're so lost and confused
Hello, God?
Are you out there?
Can you hear us?
Are you listenin' anymore?
Hello, God?
If we're still on speakin' terms
Can You help us like before?
Oh, the free will You have given
We have made a mockery of
This is no way to be livin'
We're in great need of Your love
Hello, God? …”

If it’s not Museveni, it’s Muhoozi. If it’s not Muhoozi, it’s Salim Saleh! Anyone who still doubts that this is a family dynasty is simply in denial.
Muhoozi following instructions from his father, he has "forgiven" Anita Among. Salim Saleh will “forgive” Dr @kizzabesigye1 if he apologizes!
Probably, Ruhamya (MK’s son) will “forgive” my boss Salongo @EriasLukwago if he begs for Ruhamya’s forgiveness😳
The new Bishop will most likely handle the female political prisoners!
😂😭 I am laughing through tears. This is how low our Country has been broken and degenerated!
In Uganda right now, a heavy political quiet has settled—so thick it feels ominous.
Where have the voices gone? Opposition figures, activists, journalists, everyday citizens who once spoke out without hesitation? Too many sit locked away, vanished, or muted by dread. Others bite their tongues because one wrong word can mean endless months or years in cells, with little or no solid proof ever produced against them.
This stillness is no calm. It is a warning.
At the same time the Museveni family marks milestones. Grandson Ruhamya Kainerugaba finishes at Sandhurst and steps into the UPDF ranks with open arms. Daughter Patience Rwabwogo is elevated to bishop with ceremony and warm public praise from the President and First Lady. Personal achievements, certainly—yet the contrast cuts deep against the ongoing disorder and drawn-out captivity of so many.
Citizens stay jailed for whole years while cases crawl or evidence never materialises. Remand numbers choke the prisons. Random seizures, secret holds, soldiers stepping into civilian roles, media crackdowns, and the steady targeting of critics have become standard since the January 2026 polls. UN bodies, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch keep sounding the alarm on shrinking space for dissent and the growing climate of fear.
This cannot stand.
No country prospers when the elite toast their successes while the detained waste away without proper process. Looking away from such wrongs is not balance—it is participation. The rule of law is non-negotiable. Hard evidence, speedy fair hearings, and protection from arbitrary locking-up are rights, not favours handed out selectively.
Ugandans are owed more than this one-sided quiet and one-sided festivity. The voices must rise again. Delayed or denied justice is no justice at all. The pain of those behind bars cannot be covered by military academy commissions or church elevations.

Gospel of the Day (John 1,45-51)
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, "Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him." Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?"

At this point it is crystal clear: the state, using Judge fucking Baguma and that imported rare-breed of swine key witness Orlando, is not interested in justice. They are executing Dr. Kizza Besigye in slow motion, right in front of our eyes.
This is not a trial. This is an assassination by procedure.
Ugandans, our own is being killed in broad daylight. Stand guard. Protect him. Do not look away. Do not stay silent. Do not let them finish the job while we watch.

I am hurt, angry and anxious. @kizzabesigye1 has been returned to his prison cell, and his sisters who have been caring for him at the prison hospital have been sent away.
He is still extremely weak and needs family care. Prison conditions will undermine his recovery. Yet Judge Baguma has brushed aside his medical condition and carried on with this sham trial. They may even carry him to court tomorrow.
#BailForBesigye #RightToHealth
My concern is @kizzabesigye1’s health and life. I demand that his right to health be respected. Let me bring him home to Geneva for proper medical care. When he recovers, he will return and defend himself in court.
Returning a very weak man to an airless, dark, bedbug-infested cell and denying him family care is cruel and a violation of his human rights.
After @mkainerugaba’s public threat that @kizzabesigye1 would leave prison in a coffin, I cannot remain silent. Are they trying to make that threat a reality?
#BailForBesigye #RightToHealth
The state’s desperation to execute a predetermined political trial while completely disregarding human rights, basic decency and the rule of law keeps on being exposed.
Prisons Officer Hiire claimed under oath that Dr. Besigye declined to attend court via Zoom, a lie aimed at covering up his critical condition.
Official medical reports from Luzira Prison staff confirm that Dr. Besigye is currently unable to speak, write, follow proceedings or communicate with his legal team. Despite clear medical evidence showing an incapacitated defendant, Mr. Baguma insisted the trial proceed, hiding behind the guise of the "interest of justice."
A trial where medical reports are concealed, witnesses fabricate accounts under oath and an incapacitated political prisoner cannot follow court proceedings is not justice but state-sponsored persecution.
Lies may buy time, but truth commands the final word. The world is watching.

Faith is not something given to us once and for all. Rather, we continually need to rediscover the face of Christ and his Gospel, to enter more deeply into his message and to renew the choices we make in our lives, so that they may be consistent with what we profess. In this way, we can overcome the temptation to think that we already know everything and to reduce faith to mere habit. #GospelOfTheDay (Mt 16:13-20)
For some days, she looked like she wanted to tell me something but held back. Then she came and sat herself by my side, and started small talk as usual. A few minutes into the chat, looking the other side, she said (words paraphrased) in an unusual low reflective voice: “daddy, although you don’t tell me, I hear about everything. I know what has been happening. I know what you’re going through, and I know why. I am proud of you, for choosing to speak for suffering people. I fear to lose you, and I know I will. But it makes me happy that people talk good about you, and my teachers keep praising you and telling me to be like you.”
Tears started forming in both our eyes, I held her arms, and we found ourselves laughing, when I said a cartoon of her crying would be a funny one.
We will do that, I promise you! We will expose the wicked plot, the lies and manipulation, the violence and the total disregard of our constitution, laws and court procedures.
We will fight all the way.
No surrender!
