This is probably the first time you can really get a scale for this piece - Sealing it with archival spray to protect this big beauty!

Dear Baby S - tonight I brushed in pine trees, outlined Alaska, spiraled a narwhal’s tusk, and bricked in an igloo! I hope to finish the world for you very soon! ❤️

Tonight I got to see the wall where this will hang when completed - right over the crib! 😄 Can’t wait to see this completed and hanging in its new home!

A lot of wonderful changes going on in my life has slowed my art production lately
.
But I’m still working on this great big beautiful piece for a tiny beautiful girl ❤️

Tonight I helped clean up the wonderful mess left behind by a class of nine little girls whom I had taught to paint a panda. I may not be retiring off the income of this work, but oh how this stuff can fill my heart ❤️

I’m teaching this original LeVeque Tower piece of mine at
Wine and Canvas this Thursday evening - it’s the first time I’m teaching something I designed myself!

This commission has been wonderfully full of learning and experiments - new materials, watercolor paper stapled to stretcher bars, testing sealants, a whole new project size, and now math and rulers :)

YESSSSSS - nothing makes an artist happier than a big ol’ package from @Blick_Art for a commissioned project - ! 😄

Took another stab at a quick pastel portrait, this time of my niece. I’m think I’m definitely still much better at flowers 😂

I want to get better at drawing people - i did this quick pastel sketch on a whim from a picture I saw, and I like how it turned out

I’ve been so so busy, and mucking around with a lot of acrylics lately - it feels like home to come back to my messy tray of watercolors ❤️

This is the behind-the-scenes part of what sets original art apart ... So much happens before a final piece hangs on a wall

(Depicted: watercolor ground on canvas, aquaboard panels, watercolor paper glued on panel, and watercolor paper I stretched and stapled to a frame myself)

I made a Columbus-themed watercolor sketch as part of a birthday present for my baby brother (who’s currently a badass abroad in the Navy)
