3/ How does hyperbaric oxygen therapy work? High dose (up to 98%) oxygen is breathed in, via a mask, in a chamber pressurised up to twice atmospheric pressure (2ATA). The pressure increases the body’s ability to absorb oxygen by approx 10 times in this instance.
