2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV) “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. “

I see some people crashing out on the timeline over righteousness and its lack of a proper grounding on new creation realities and the finished work of Christ.

Righteousness means “right standing before God”.

Before Christ came, people tried to be right with God by their own efforts, thinking that by observing a set of laws and rules they could earn Gods approval.

The blood of bulls and goats was used as a substitute in the law to cover up sin.

When Christ showed up, he made the sacrifice once and for all. He ascended up to the Father and presented us to him, holy and accepted in the beloved. We are now the righteousness of Christ.

Basically we have the same standing before God the father as Jesus did. We became his brothers and sisters according to Hebrews 2:11.

We have boldness to stand before the Father without fear or condemnation.

Religion will tell you it’s not true and I expect people to crash out over this also, but I can tell you from experience that religion and confessing that you’re weak and a sinner after Christ has redeemed you will build fear and weakness into your Spirit.

It will lead to unanswered prayers and frustration and you will not have the boldness to stand against the wiles of the enemy when he shows up.

Dear religious bro/sis, dare to say what Christ has said about you! Confess it and you will be shocked how boldness will rise up big in your Spirit and your reality in Christ will change!

PS: We pray and read the Bible daily without fail!
