@GM@Cadillac Wow, Cadillac just denied my brothers claim! His 2023 Escalade has jumped out of gear multiple times and just recently caused $7k damage to the drivers door. The Escalade went into reverse, with nobody in the drivers seat, broke the drivers door backwards! #gm
We had a newer Escalade slip into reverse multiple times with nobody in the driver’s seat, including the latest one that bent the driver’s door backwards causing $7k damage. GM hired a “third party” that determined there was nothing wrong and everything was fine. The automatic emergency brake only engaged after bending the door completely backwards. They don’t care.
Good morning! Let this be advice to anyone who owns a GM vehicle.
If you have any issues that require a vehicle inspection, GM will hire a “third party” inspector. Keep in mind, this inspector is being paid by GM and will pretend like they are unbiased. Think about it, if they were truly unbiased, why would GM continue hiring them without actually working with the customer to find a real third party inspector?
The inspector they hired called to do the interview over the phone, totally unprofessional - asked for height and weight, physical abilities and health issues…wtf does that have to do with anything? Then, GM pays to fly them out, food and lodging and to “inspect” the vehicle. The GM dealership had their own employee, shadow this inspector the entire time, who again, was supposed to be unbiased. Then, the dealership billed GM for this!
This has gone on since August of this year.
GM doesn’t care about their customers. They want your money and will blame you for any failures that happen with their vehicles.

Is @GM this bad? @Ford and @RamTrucks have always put the customer first. Maybe it’s time to sell the @Cadillac and move back into a different vehicle? Do better and listen to your customers before somebody gets seriously injured or killed!

I’ll keep updating this as we go! The dealership is now on our side after the latest incident. I’ve never seen a manufacturer try to wash their hands like this. They’ll wait until someone gets gravely injured or killed before they’ll do anything. Shame on you @GM and @Cadillac
@NHTSAgov report was filed since GM and Cadillac are denying that anything is wrong with the 2023 Escalade. I’ve never seen a vehicle that was bought brand new, have so many issues. #escalade#cadillac#recall#gm#transmission
GM has officially closed the case, said nothing is wrong with the Escalade. Today, December 16, 2025, the Escalade was in a elementary school parking lot pickup line when it rolled backwards again. The ebrake engaged only because there was another car directly behind the Escalade. What now, General Motors?
Update - After digging, it was a Vertex inspector who was previously a, get rich salesman. He would sell his advice/program to shop owners on how to get the most out of a customer and increase their profits. How is this person an “expert” let alone an unbiased “third party” inspector? Wow, what a joke and shame on GM! I guess they’ll wait until the Escalade kills one of my brother’s young children or someone else before they’ll fix it.
Update - @GM sent out a “third party” inspector to look over the Escalade. The local dealership had an employee help this “third party” inspector. How is this an unbiased investigation/inspection? Why did they clear the codes and fix the recall? Changed the oil without asking?
GM said to “refer to the vehicles owners manual.” This was his first @GM vehicle and it’s safe to say, probably his last. $120k brand new and this is how you get treated. It’s been in for multiple check engine lights. Rear strut replacement and for jumping out of gear and more.
The best part is, @GM sent out a “third party” inspector, who along with the dealership, flashed the computer and did the recall “fix” without telling my brother. Time to look at @Ford vehicles because @GM and @Cadillac have been no help at all. @NHTSAgov
