@Jaden29804469 CFC's are a gas made of chlorine, bromine and carbon that is usually used in refrigerants and aerosol propellants. This relates to my topic because the reaction with CFC's and ultra violet radiation generates the release of chlorine causing the ozone layer to deplete.

@ginrob_pt I think they were thought of that way because they were so cheap to manufacture and had very little downsides to them. I also think that if someone knew what they would cause, they would have said something earlier rather than hiding it.

If CFC's had not been banned, some parts of the world would be virtually inhabitable by 2065. Places such as southern Germany and Washington D.C. would have UV radiation up to 650%. Thats enough to cause a sunburn in 5 minutes.
