@jonlovett last scream into the void here but does saying mean things about a dead man not fucking count as the “freedom of speech” charlie kirk himself claimed to fight for??? https://t.co/uQYW1wPDeD
@jonlovett this statement is deeply alienating. you say there is no pressure to mourn then turn around and try to “persuade” me to be “stricken.” i am saying this to you in good faith as a paying subscriber who has followed PSA since 2020.
I’m a bit surprised by the number of seemingly sensible people that fell for the ‘change my mind’ pretense of campus political debates and imagine these events as some kind of good-faith forum for engaging with different political views
@jonlovett it really feels like you, as a political commentator/influencer, identify more closely with charlie kirk than the many many people who were hurt by him over the course of his life. hope i’m wrong about that.
@jonlovett charlie kirk was against empathy. called it “made up.” it’s one thing to say people shouldn’t celebrate violence, another to expect us to mourn a guy who spent his career inciting hatred.
It’s unforgivable that so many reputable media outlets took information reported by Steven Crowder to make trans people look bad and reported it without verifying it. Someone should be fired at every company who reported this. Trans people will die because of them.
@jonfavs i am not suggesting to celebrate violence, but it is very disconcerting to you see all more deeply devastated and emotional over this than you ever were over, say, the assassinations in MN. i am, btw, a paying subscriber.
@jonfavs i fear the extremists on x have become more real to you than your followers and listeners, who have largely been driven off this platform. disappointed to see your YouTube implying that those kirk incited hatred and violence against in life should feel anything about his death.
"This avalanche of trauma was piled onto {Andry} because the luckiest people in the history of the world were convinced that the immigrant down the street might eat their cat."

This is so funny. I'm all for engaging with people you disagree with but if your take is "I hope something unexpected happens that wakes people up to the evils of women going to school" I think the appropriate response is to point and laugh
The fuck is wrong with democrats against Mamdani? If he wins the left will turn against him instantly. We need to be there for him when that happens, offering the soft bosom of neoliberalism
“folks have to admit this is a bad mistake he made” there are eugenicists on the loose but ooh a 17 year old was possibly confused possibly dishonest on a form, everyone must weigh in
i think it is gauche to litigate whether or not he checked the right ethnicity box as a high school senior when ultimately this is private information that was obtained and disseminated by a racist eugenicist for a hit piece.
I'd forgive immigrants for not knowing this, but it's disingenuous for most Americans to pretend that you don't know "African American" refers specifically to Black in this country, right? Like my husband can't use it even though he's fully North African ethnically
like, this is such a nothingburger, and we’re only even talking about it *because some racist grad school dropout has a direct line to the NYT for some fucking reason*
