Took a big loss at scrabble to my wife. 199-270 ish…
But we were in the kitchen, listening to great music, she was laughing her head off, just like old times. So who is the real winner
I watched this match from the photographer bunker sunk below court level. One of the most insane matches I’ve ever seen live. Safin was an absolute legend!
Coming up 25 years since this was our regular drinking spot. Housemates, tennis friends, 4 weddings, 8 children later, this weekend was just like the good old days back at Leeds Met Carnegie. Friends for life. 🎾🍻
@NorwichCityFC This was my 9 year old nephew’s first ever game. My dad who is 65 and a season ticket holder managed to get the tickets for the four of us to go. Absolutely unreal scenes it was unbelievable. My first match was against Sutton Utd in the FA cup back in ‘89. 8-0 to the Canaries.
I have loved reading this book over the last few days. So insightful and honest.
I like the phrase ‘perseverance is excellence in disguise’ and he had so much of it.
What a story and what a great career. 🎾
I am so excited to be able to reveal my book about professional tennis, ‘The Racket’, will be published on June 6th by Penguin Randomhouse in the UK & Ireland.
Ed Caesar of The New Yorker magazine called it “elegant and powerful…a rich, mordant and affecting portrait.”
@AndrewJHowarth3@NorwichCityFC I’m not disagreeing with you, I was just pleased to be at a game 🤣. I’m going to the Coventry game as well, I’ll report back to you Andrew.
@AndrewJHowarth3@NorwichCityFC I went to this game today. Norwich had some good moments but just some poor lapses of concentration. Also hard to play good football when the pitch resembles Beetley tip.
I love these sort of questions but the problem is the top 5 for me can change depending on where I am and what mood I am in.
So today it is….
1. Slide Away
2. Cast No Shadow (acoustic)
3. Cigarettes and Alcohol
4. Rock and Roll Star
5. Stand By Me
Imagine if you ran a branch of Greggs but you got fired for being corrupt. So one day you got everyone to storm Greggs and smash it up, and your only punishment is Greggs asking you back to run a Greggs again. That’s basically America.
@davideglon Good points made Dave! The days of having one wage, a house that increases 10% in value every year and a guaranteed foreign holiday are long gone. You both work harder for a better quality of life but the irony is your quality of life is worse due to how hard you have to work!
Remembering John Lennon on what would have been his 84th birthday. He will be forever loved, always missed and never forgotten. Happy birthday to Sean as well.

Instead of getting depressed with the state of the world do something about it starting with your neighbourhood. Say hello to your neighbours, pick up litter, report vandalism, drive less and use your local shops.
