@JoeLFGPatsPod It was great luck to have him for 2 decades, a privilege to cheer for him, and a duty to defend him. But I have been saying for years that he wasn’t one of us anymore. The only question that lingers is if he ever actually was.
@MotoRizzdGevalt@knownothin1844@TomaszKira@creation247 Now that is interesting to me because I once heard an English gentleman say that we Americans do not make our tea hot enough, that we need to “boil the bloody water.” I’m sure there is some nuance there, but I find the hotter I make pressed coffee the better I can get it.
@murnyarya@knownothin1844@TomaszKira@creation247 Laugh all you like. You’re free to do that. If that’s what you have on us enjoy it. We will keep doing what we do. See you on the dark side of the moon.
@murnyarya@knownothin1844@TomaszKira@creation247 And it would be just as silly to covert everyone else to Fahrenheit for day to day as it would be to convert the other way. We all can convert when necessary, and science language is universal. Perhaps everyone should bite the bullet and convert to Kelvin.
@murnyarya@knownothin1844@TomaszKira@creation247 The differences in feel of decimal points is minuscule in Fahrenheit, that is largely the point of using the scale. Unless we are talking about body temp, where, admittedly, C is easier (37-38C as opposed to 98.6 to 100.4F, though many folks say “yeah, fever” at an even 100F).
@Mupplo@murnyarya@knownothin1844@TomaszKira@creation247 “Tell me you are ___ without telling me you are ___ ” Looks like I have been burned (in any temperature scale) by some who has mastered the art of Twitter-speak for 12-year-olds. I was going to further the debate with colloquial conversions, but this is no longer worth my time.
@murnyarya@knownothin1844@TomaszKira@creation247 Settle down friend. You will be satisfied to know that throughout my many university lab hours, I stared wearily at Erlenmeyer flasks recording Celsius temperatures like the rest of the scientific world. We all do. We just prefer a more user-friendly scale for day to day living.
@knownothin1844@TomaszKira@creation247 Exactly. Outside of a lab nobody cares what temp near boiling water is. It’s either boiling and you throw in the pasta or it’s not and you wait. Basing the whole scale on that number wastes about 60% of this “logical” 0-100 scale since we really don’t live at 40C-100C.
@TheRPGDummy Bought a book this week, physical copy of every movie my kids want me to buy. I wait until the streaming-only window closes then buy when the disc/code combo comes out. We may watch on the code or stream, but I want them to have a physical library of the things they like.
I don’t know when I’m going to get to see it, but if Toy Story 5 gives us a post credit of Bonnie’s mom somehow returning the toys to Andy upon learning he’s a new dad since Bonnie doesn’t use them anymore, I’ll probably be useless for the ride home.
@NBAMemes This is like that time Kane came back at the end of Raw with Paul Bearer wearing the red blazer and destroyed everyone for no particular reason.
