Being active is a clinical need, not just a 'lifestyle choice'. Working to help clinicians and their patients talk about 'being active' for health. #never2L8
Great new SR/MA by @AvanderMade at a time when I feel we are may be at the point of no return when it comes to “muscle-tendon” injuries in football.
Not all “tendon” injuries are BAD but it’s rife amongst clincians and we’ve dragged coaches and players into believing this too!
💬A typical muscle injury grade discussion in 2017
Player/coach: Is it a grade 1, 2 or 3?
Me: None, prefer to call this a 2c injury
P:🙄
💬⏩2024
M: We are working on a short to moderate time out. We are calling it a Gr2
P/C: Is it, b or c?
M: c
P/C: Its a long one😢
M:🙄

@guusreurink@RodWhiteley@Rbnvrmln@KennyLauf@arnlaugw Interesting differences in RTP times between C and non-C injuries. Seem to be notably smaller in football than in athletics.

New hamstring 📔 concludes that BAMIC provides valuable prognostic information (in football).

❓W/ weak correlation (r=.32 between grade and RTP & only 10% of variance in RTP explained by grade, how useful is the classification for prognosis in practice?
"Our own personal experience was a large spread of RTP within each muscle injury grade and significant between-group overlap." ⚽️

@carlespedret@TendonImaging@RandeepSAujla The “tail” of the prox LHBF tendon is an interesting anatomical area. Special, like the black tip of the long-tailed weasel!

It shouldn't take a tragic event in a famous personality for people to realise the importance of AED and CPR. "12 Young people die each week from sudden cardiac death and every minutes delay of performing CPR and using an AED decreases survival by 10%". Everyone should learn it.
Delighted to share our hamstring study in English Football @BMJOpenSEM
⚽️Recognising intramuscular tendon injuries using BAMIC is important in footballers

Being boring is boring guys! But if it gets the job done it’s definitely worth it! We are all batting at 11 so let’s not get ahead of ourselves and start playing shots. Defend your stumps. One ball at a time and let Stokes do his thing #StayAtHome
