Newry City AFC��s new full time scholarship programme is open to players completing their GCSEs this year.

Players do not need to sign for Newry City to attend. You can train full time during the week and continue playing for your club at the weekends.

💙⚪ New Full Time Football Scholarship Programme Coming to Newry ⚪💙

Newry City AFC is delighted to launch an exciting new partnership with LLS and Newry High School, bringing a full time Football Performance Programme to the area.

This two year programme is for students who have completed their GCSEs and want to continue their education while training and competing in a full time football environment.

Students will study towards a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, Coaching and Development, which is the equivalent of three A* at A Level and provides a direct pathway into university, scholarships, employment, and opportunities within football.

The programme includes:

⚽ Four training sessions per week
🎓 BTEC Level 3 qualification
🏆 Competitive games programme
💪 Strength and conditioning
📚 Weekly work experience
🌍 Trips away and football experiences
➡️ Pathways into higher education and careers in sport

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people in the wider area to continue their education while developing on and off the pitch.

The same programme is being delivered successfully with clubs including Larne FC, Cliftonville FC and Dungannon Swifts FC.
