@GavinSBaker@_sholtodouglas "rather than worrying about inequality we should focus on growing the pie so fast that even the bottom of the income/compute distribution are much better off here in America than almost anywhere else."
trickle down economics???
@kentdebruin@nothing imo if you’re advertising a product you shouldn’t ai generate the photography. Its dishonest. Lazy. It’s like making clothes and then ai generating a photoshoot.
On Being an Elder
Finally took the time this morning to write down some thoughts I’ve been pondering lately about what it means to be someone in tech who’s been doing this for a while.
It’s a reminder for myself as much as anything, but I hope it might inspire you as well.
don't believe the hype, being an expert in any domain today is insanely advantageous. AI doesn't replace that, it literally can't. no matter how fast AI becomes, it won't speed up sloppy brain.
Opus 5 in Claude Code is very challenging to work with.
Issue is that it is not earnest - it seeks to do a mix of the bare minimum combined with bullshitting it's way out of situations resulting in a significant degradation in UX. This is the kind of employee I have fired in the past, and this is a cancel the product moment for me. It just doesn't feel like it belongs in the Claude family. As a user I have to work harder to use Opus 5 efficiently, and that just doesn't cut it.
There is something which has gone wrong in the Claude Code + Opus 5 model + harness UX, and it just isn't fun to use. cc @bcherny@trq212 and team - are you happy with this ? Or am I hallucinating here ? I might be on your dashboards as a top global active user, and to me this is instinctive. I don't like Opus 5 + CC, please fix or please don't let it be the fallback from Fable 5. Even Opus 4.8 was better.
I cannot understand how has the UX here regressed below Claude Code + Opus 4.6 last year even.
America doesn’t have the moral standing to claim we should be the stewards of ai safety and progress. We should be building and maintaining global relations NOT creating geopolitical tensions that slow progress for everyone.
I think my issue with Dario’s perspective is his condescending tone and his savior mentality.
The issue is he packages a logical perspective on gated access and review of open models with this outdated form of American protectionism
DialKit now has visual timeline editing for all your fancy animations.
Supports loops, groups, staggers, compound animations, and scrubbing (even with springs). I can't wait to see what ya'll create with it!

@deanwball You’re too smart to not know that your new position means you have more responsibility for the words and tweets you say. Especially as head of strategic futures at OpenAI.
