So we are ending the day discussing the "summary" of the research areas that will feed into the Tanzania edition of the @SIDEastAfrica "Energy for What" project.
...this topic is HUGE. And this is just a beginning. A promising beginning 🙂

Sidenote:
I actually did not keep track of how many times the #electricty in the meeting room flickered or went off completely.
Even in the comfort of a lovely modern hotel, we are struggling with the rest of #Tanzania
Excellent reminder why we are here 🙂

The realities facing Africa and #Tanzania with regard to #EnergyFuturesEA are challenging.
I am glad that the daunting size of the task is being acknowledged. It is exciting to get candid discussion, in the hopes that our thinking and research will match the task...
"How do we get heard? Especially in #Africa, where if young people speak up they are seen as a threat?"
"What about #ownership? The global scene, power dynamics, competing interests?"
Yup. Now we are getting to the gritty details of this very complex topic
#EnergyFuturesEA
...and we have been working!
Honestly I come to seminars like this to update my knowledge about issues.
Here I am getting a fantastic insight into #Tanzania's energy system. And so much more, of course, from current and future #leadership.
#EnergyFuturesEA @SIDEastAfrica
@SIDEastAfrica We are refreshed and presenting the results of our deliberations to each other.
