Every 24x7 banking service has a banker behind it and a family waiting at home. We agreed to the 5-day week in March 2024 and accepted longer weekday hours. The regulator, the insurer and the Government all work 5 days.

Our demand is just. The delay is not.

The commitment for a 5-day banking week was made on 8 March 2024; it is time the Government approves it without further delay. #5DayBankingNow #AIBOC @PMOIndia

Bankers keep India connected 24×7.

But behind every transaction, target and deadline is a human being, with a family, responsibilities and a life beyond the branch.

A 5-day week was agreed in March 2024, with bankers accepting longer working hours from Monday to Friday.

The demand is reasonable. The commitment is proven. The delay is difficult to justify.

Implement 5-Day Banking now.

India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.

At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.

Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.

A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.

Let's prioritize well-being and efficiency in banking. A 5-day week for employees will benefit everyone. #Implement5DayBanking https://t.co/MhfOKUOeZ6

[All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC) @aiboc_in]

A rested workforce serves the public better. With staff shortages and rising stress, 5-day banking is a service-quality issue, not a “perk.” UFBU has pursued this since 2015; IBA has recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and it’s included in the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024), pending clearances.
Let’s finish what’s already agreed.

Imagine a banking system where weekends are truly free! A 5-day banking week can make that dream a reality for all. #5DayBankingNow https://t.co/NXQzgejOoP

[All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC) @aiboc_in]

When the world is moving to a 4-day week, and banking is already 24x7 in the digital era, bankers asking for a 5-day week isn’t a luxury. It’s justice.

IBA has agreed. The understanding is signed.
Now the Government must honour its commitment – no more excuses, no more delays.

Respect the Settlement. Deliver it.

On one hand, I am saddened to see this condition of people. On the other hand, I think its no use of reserving tickets anymore. I can just hop in and travel anywhere I want. But cant go to the restroom if I want to. 😔

@IRCTCofficial should find a way to fix this.
