Attended the Winter Crystallography Meeting last week and I won the best poster & flash presentations prize! This is my first prize since I’ve started my PhD 😃 I’m glad I could make everyone laugh either at the Halloween theme or Moo Deng 🦛👨🏻🔬👻

The 19th European Congress on Solid State Chemistry (ECSSC-19) will be held in Málaga, September 2025, and now welcomes pre-registration and abstract submissions! https://t.co/HKYCbRiUwX
Don’t miss this fantastic event and the chance to connect with fellow solid-state chemists!
Really great time attending and presenting at the @SscgR Christmas meeting this week! Such a friendly meeting and a massive thank you to all the organisers for letting me waffle on about perovskites!
Another @SscgR Christmas Meeting 🎄Thanks for coming round to my poster yesterday. Your interests, interactions, and conversations were genuinely meaningful. Lots of advice and ideas to look into as well!
Have a great Christmas everyone! 💚❤️
It costs $89-$199 for a poster printing
Estimated $260.000-$597.000 for ~3k posters (main conference)
$0.5M dollars go to the trash bin right after 3 hours 😭
I feel sad, is there any more sustainable way to reduce this waste?? 🥹 #NeurIPS2024#NeurIPS
Passed my viva yesterday ☺️ Thank you the examiners @Munelectro and @Masschelein_Lab for all the suggestions. I want to thank my supervisors @CorreLabo@StavrosTeam , my lab mates, my friends, and family for the supports throughout my PhD journey.
Thanks to a transformational donation to the University earlier this year we’re pleased to be able to offer 24 fully-funded 4-year #PhD studentships at the Warwick Centre for Experimental Fuel Technologies, with the first students starting October 2025. This exciting opportunity is available to both UK and international students.

The 2024 #NobelPrize laureates in chemistry Demis Hassabis and John Jumper have successfully utilised artificial intelligence to predict the structure of almost all known proteins.
In 2020, Hassabis and Jumper presented an AI model called AlphaFold2. With its help, they have been able to predict the structure of virtually all the 200 million proteins that researchers have identified. Since their breakthrough, AlphaFold2 has been used by more than two million people from 190 countries. Among a myriad of scientific applications, researchers can now better understand antibiotic resistance and create images of enzymes that can decompose plastic.
