Japan Denies Sending Combat Drones to Thailand, Hopes for Early Restoration of Peace

PHNOM PENH – The Japanese Embassy in Cambodia has rejected claims that Japan would provide Thailand with combat drones, describing them as false news.

"The Government of Japan has never planned to provide such equipment to Thailand, nor has it received such a request from Thailand," the statement issued on August 6 read.

The statement continued that Japan places the utmost importance on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached between Cambodia and Thailand and on the early restoration of peace.

Japan also hopes that the Cambodian people can go back to a peaceful daily life as soon as possible.
