Briefed the media today on the Delhi High Court hearing regarding hooliganism and brazen violations of prescribed guidelines in #DUSUelections2025. The Court has taken serious note of the lawlessness, reiterating the urgent need to safeguard democratic values on campus
#WATCH | DUSU Elections | Advocate Prashant Manchanda says, "The bench of Chief Justice had made its stand absolutely clear that there is not going to be any influence of money and muscle power in the elections and the court had reiterated its stand, which is very important because today the Delhi police as well as the other authorities, including the student union outfits such as ABVP and NSUI, had made a mention that they have issued circulars warning the candidates and instructing them to not use cavalcade of cars or follow the instructions of the Delhi High Court as the High Court is monitoring the entire conspectus of the matter on which the Delhi High Court had taken a very strong view and reprimanded Delhi Police as well as the other authorities as well as the union outfits saying that this should have done much much earlier, it's too late a step to be taken at this stage. Already there has been rampant muscle and money power...This superficial exercise is too late a step to be taken, and the same was reiterated for the Delhi police as well as the other authorities..."

If the court is satisfied, only then the results will be declared on November 26,” says advocate Prashant Manchanda.

#WATCH | Delhi: On DUSU Election Results, Advocate Prashant Manchanda (Petitioner), says, "As to the contentions of the few candidates who had wanted the immediate vacation of the stay, the Delhi HC has made it absolutely clear that there is not going to any vacation of the stay up till all the properties defaced by the candidates is properly removed and restored to its esthetic value. When this petition was taken up by Chief Justice, the honourable Chief Justice made the landmark remark that is to clean the properties first and as a contesting candidate it’s your responsibility to first see that all the properties across Delhi which have been plastered, spray painted should be first cleaned. The day it happens, we will ensure the election results are declared,” says petitioner and advocate Prashant Manchanda.

VIDEO | "I was shocked to see the replica of what was happening in 2017. The court was apprised with all the photographs and also was shown as to how the entire Delhi is defaced in the upcoming runup for the DUSU elections. The photos showed how even the police stations, bus stops, metros and private properties were not free from defacement. The court took serious note of this strange and brazen display of power and corruption by the prospective DUSU candidates and then reprimanded the authorities, as well as sought reasons from the Delhi University as well as the Chief Election Commission as to what is being done, why the orders have not been followed," says advocate Prashant Manchanda on Delhi High Court hearing on DU students' union elections.
