We need to take behavioral management cues from coaches. It should be as unthinkable for a student to lash out and misbehave in a classroom as it is to talk back and ignore their football coach’s directions.
Teachers can spend every second of the day being productive and still feel like they are not doing enough.
We need more realistic expectations or more prep time. Preferably both.
When children witness violence in the home, it is considered emotional abuse. Allowing students to witness chronic violence in the classroom should also be considered emotional abuse. Why the double standard? #onted#cdned#edchat
We were very lucky to get a private tour of Sail GP tech centre today. Spectacular. Good luck to all the teams but as the kids yell in the video “ let’s go Canada 🇨🇦 “
How can @nsgov have real conversations about school violence without including @NSTeachers, and other employees?
Today I received yet another photo from a teacher who is a victim of violence - this time being bitten by a student.
Teachers, remember you're on the same team. Admin shouldn’t be the only ones to encourage, support, & inspire. Motivate each other! Build each other up, including staff and your administrators. Celebrate each other’s successes!
"We don't try to force kids into these different boxes. What we do is we understand that all of these types of people exist and they all bring value and they all should be accepted and loved."

ALERT: The Halifax boardwalk (from Tall Ships Quay to the Sands at Salter) is currently closed due to high waves, expected continued storm surge, and loose boards. Additionally, all wharves are closed to the public. Please avoid any sections of the boardwalk that are close to the water until the storm surge has subsided and we are able to make any necessary repairs.
