@aziz_zgigi Chico has an impressive defensive workrate, and is a bigger threat on counters (at least if he can get a few more braincells working in his decision making)
Hopefully it’s just a rumor that won’t materialize, and this rant will be for nothing. This team is desperate for some stability during a very volatile market, where we already need to make a lot of changes. I just want the changes to be grounded and reasonable.
If, IF, we take Suzuki on a loan, I really don’t understand it. GK of all positions is one where you want stability. I’m already a little insecure about how much of an improvement he would be, but I would definitely understand a permanent deal. A loan though, wouldn’t get it.
Even Vicario makes more sense, since the ambition would at least be to find a new long term solution. I don’t hold him above Di Gre or Perin atm, but I would still understand it in some way, and therefore accept it. A dry loan for a decent keeper though, I really don’t see why.
@morten_bering It’s also very clear during games how he gives directions to basically all other players constantly, both regarding how they should move and where they should play the ball when he is marked. The team is in much more disarray when he is not on the field.
@morten_bering I am a bit worried about Kalulu. He was known as injury prone before joining us, and is now playing basically every minute in every game. I hope it doesn’t come back to haunt him.
I might actually be sold now - we should probably make a serious attempt at renewing Wes. He’s been outstanding under Spalletti. He’s definitely a limited player, but his workrate, pressing and ability to threaten the goal is definitely important for this team.
Assuming Spalletti goes with some version of a 4-3-3, I think our defense will be risky, but Koop could be the player who benefits most. At least he won’t be able to complain about his position or the system as much.
