Strengthening Rwanda–Czech ties 🇷🇼🤝🇨🇿
On 21 April 2026, Ambassador Dr. Richard Masozera had a very productive meeting with the Rector of @CharlesUniPRG, Dr. Jiří Zima, to advance cooperation in education and academic exchange across sciences, social sciences, medicine, and technology.
The Ambassador also highlighted Rwanda's strong commitment to educating its youth, particularly in the context of post-genocide reconstruction/nation building, resilience, and raising awareness on the dangers of genocidal ideology.
A promising step toward strengthening human capital, fostering multicultural exchanges, and upholding the spirit of #NeverAgain. @Rwanda_Edu@Uni_Rwanda@RwandaMFA@Unity_MemoryRw

Today in Prague, the Embassy of Rwanda in the Czech Republic solemnly commemorated Kwibuka32, bringing together distinguished guests, members of the diplomatic corps, friends of Rwanda, and members of the Rwandan community living in the Czech Republic, who came in strong numbers to commemorate and demonstrate Rwanda’s continued unity.
We were honoured by the presence of the Honourable @MarieChatardova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, as Guest of Honour, alongside @vaclav_prasil , Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as other distinguished representatives from various Czech institutions and the business community.
The commemoration was marked by a powerful address from Ambassador Dr. Richard Masozera, who underscored the devastating consequences of silence in the face of injustice and crime, and reaffirmed that unity and reconciliation remain the foundation of the Rwanda we continue to build and cherish.
In her remarks, Deputy Minister Chatardová highlighted the importance of remembrance and reflected on the strong and longstanding ties between Rwanda and the Czech Republic, particularly on this day of Kwibuka.
The event was further honoured by the presence of Mr.@FreddyMutanguha, CEO of the Kigali Genocide Memorial and @Aegis_Trust, who delivered an eloquent and insightful presentation on the history and realities that led to the Genocide against the Tutsi, as well as his moving survivor testimony.
We were equally moved by the powerful and courageous testimony of Ms. @JudenceK , whose story deeply resonated with all in attendance.
Kwibuka reminds us that remembrance is a duty, and that #NeverAgain must remain a shared and active commitment. @RwandaMFA@mzvcr_AFR@Unity_MemoryRw
Rwandans in Czech republic commemorating for the 32nd time the genocide against Tutsi
It is a duty and a responsibility to make sure it never happens again
This evening, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined thousands of Rwandan youth for the annual Walk to Remember and Night Vigil at BK Arena, as part of the #Kwibuka32 remembrance activities, where young Rwandans stand together to uphold the memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame have joined thousands of youth in Kigali City in the #Kwibuka32 Walk to Remember.
The walk started from the Gasabo District offices and is aimed at honouring the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi and denouncing the genocide ideology. #RBANews
President #Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame lay a wreath at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the final resting place for over 250,000 victims, to mark the start of #Kwibuka32.
Today, Rwanda and the international community unite in solemn remembrance as we mark the 32nd Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, #Kwibuka32. This day marks the beginning of 100 days dedicated to honoring the lives lost, standing in solidarity with survivors, and reaffirming our collective commitment to “Never Again.”
As we remember, we also reflect on the enduring strength and resilience of the Rwandan people. May this period serve not only as a time of mourning, but also as a call to action, to uphold truth, fight denial, and promote unity, dignity, and humanity for all..
One of the unforgettable moments at yesterday’s event was watching Hon. Minister @DrDamascene and Hon. @BusingyeJohns celebrating with members of the diaspora.
It was remarkable to see how they genuinely engage, listen, and connect with Rwandans even while abroad. A true example of leadership that remains close to its people, wherever they are.
