The fact that a minister needs to be physically present and on a nationwide tour to be able to assess ongoing works and projects in a small country like Ghana says a lot about our institutions and structures.
“If I had my way, I would bring my office along with me in a car” - Roads and Highways Minister, Governs Kwame Agbodza, responds to whether he misses his office as he ends his nationwide tour in Tamale.

🇬🇭 Government of Ghana Treasury Bill Auction Results
》Treasury yields cratered by a massive 218bps - the steepest week-on-week compression YTD - as investors piled a staggering GHS 17.2bn into GoG money market instruments.
》The Ministry of Finance came in aggressively, rejecting GHS 11.4bn of those bids while tightening the upper band of accepted yields by 230bps. This is the largest single-week rejection this year, pushing total YTD rejected bids to GHS 20bn.
》Investors clearly came in hot: tendered bids were GHS 12bn above the GHS 4.98bn target, extending the YTD cumulative "over-subscription vs target" to GHS 33bn.
》With GHS 4.8bn maturities falling due, this strong auction performance reflects bullish investor sentiment, supported dovish BoG, anchored firmly on subdued current and expected inflation prints.
》Looking ahead, we anticipate further softening in T-bill yields as the market positions for the GHS 9bn cash-coupon payout on 16Feb2026 - a liquidity boost the street is already pricing in.
》Next auction: Target of GHS 6.14bn vs maturities of GHS 6.2bn

@EiiScanty My interest is how you came to the conclusion of us being primitive and ignorant as a country. Are you judging an entire country based on one practice you find annoying? Why assume that modernization means everyone has to behave the same way or keep quiet in public?
