Indeed, the Kenyan people made a solemn covenant to ourselves in 2010. One that is enshrined in our Constitution and one that remains, to this day, largely unfulfilled.

That covenant was not merely ink on paper. It was a declaration of the nation we resolved to become.

Kenya is richly endowed in resources and in people.

Our deficit is not capacity. It is integrity. What has failed us is not the citizen, but the character of those entrusted to lead them.
I remain committed, with Kenyans of goodwill, to restoring constitutional order, renewing our national dignity, and rebuilding what reckless governance has eroded: our economy, our schools, our hospitals, and above all, our utu.
