Podemos estar en contra de la Iglesia Católica. Muchos españoles la vemos como una institución corrupta, mafiosa y alejada de los valores del cristianismo. Y en España, por nuestra historia, sobran motivos para no tenerle cariño.
PERO incluso más allá de su corrupción, el catolicismo conserva una tradición moral basada en la comunidad, la solidaridad, el bien común, la caridad, el amor al prójimo y la importancia de la familia. Una idea de fe vinculada al barrio, al pueblo, al cuidado, a Cáritas, al hospital, al colegio, al rito compartido.
Frente a eso, buena parte del evangelismo que crece hoy llega cargado de individualismo, diezmo, espectáculo emocional, conspiranoia, curanderismo, sionismo cristiano y guerra cultural importada de EEUU.
Y hay otra diferencia brutal: un sacerdote católico pasa por años de formación seria en filosofía, ética, teología, historia de la Iglesia, liturgia y pastoral. Con todos los errores, horrores y miserias de la institución, el nivel intelectual no es comparable al predicador de turno con micrófono, Biblia subrayada y complejo de profeta.
Criticar a la Iglesia Católica no significa aplaudir cualquier franquicia religiosa con altavoz. A veces cambiar incienso por telepredicador no es progreso: es degradación con batería y Bizum.

this is kind of an amazing parable about scientific materialism. it speaks for itself but i'm going to autistically overanalyze it anyway, for fun -

the question pretends to ask about what a person would do in a social situation but it is actually asking for the "right answer," and the "right answer" involves looking at the situation "objectively," which means completely ignoring the relational texture of the little brother being upset in favor of an abstract argument (which the teacher's comments leave implicit) that he "shouldn't" be upset because the situation is "actually" "objectively" fair even if he doesn't feel that way

this is a very specific way of looking at the situation which school trains you to think of as universally correct, not even a choice that you're making, just the way things "really are." the kid's answer ignores all of this to interpret the question literally as written, maintain focus on the relational texture, and see the situation as a relational rupture they can repair through kindness. instead of teaching the little brother to prioritize abstract concepts over their feelings he teaches the little brother not only that kindness is real and that his family has his back but also that, since the older sibling finds it easy to give up their cornbread, perhaps the cornbread doesn't matter that much anyway

El acoso que está promoviendo este señor es bastante lamentable, pero precisamente por eso no conviene quedarse callado ante este tipo de intentos de deshumanizar a alguien.

Para empezar, Yolanda Díaz —igual que cualquier otro cargo público— sigue siendo una persona. Tener responsabilidades políticas no implica dejar de tener vida privada, ni renunciar a algo tan básico como salir a comprar lo que necesite.

Y luego está la cuestión de fondo: ¿desde cuándo es criticable que una mujer quiera verse bien o comprarse unos zapatos? Porque lo llamativo no es la foto, sino el sesgo. Este tipo de “indignación” suele aparecer selectivamente, y casi siempre dirigida hacia determinadas mujeres, especialmente si son de izquierdas. La misma escena con otros perfiles rara vez genera tanto ruido.

Intentar convertir un gesto cotidiano en motivo de ataque no dice nada de la persona fotografiada, pero sí bastante de quien busca generar odio a partir de algo tan trivial.

People really saying “just connect to the internet not a big deal” my brother in Christ that’s not the point. God forbid a natural disaster happens or you can’t pay your WiFi bill one month and just can’t play games you PAID for until you reconnect.

It doesn’t matter if you have internet, it’s a matter of principle. You shouldn’t be okay with PS arbitrarily taking away access to games you spent your hard earned money on. The more comfortable you get with this the worse it will get.
