@TPostMillennial I live in Ottawa and the truckers are welcome to stay as long as it takes. I would like all those businesses to reopen as well. So end the mandates.
@EvanLSolomon This sort of thing happens at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier all too often. It even happens on Canada Day and it's almost always driven by ignorance, not malice. But you know that. You're engaged in partisan politics, not journalism.
@anthonyfurey Don't get too excited. We're just enjoying the post-vax antibody surge (Ontario was late to the game compared to UK/US/etc.). Let's see how we're doing in Feb/March when the vaccines start to wear out...
Hospital data from Sweden, where schools stayed open, shows #Covid caused no deaths in children - and teachers were 57% LESS likely to need intensive care for Covid than other working adults. Yes, less likely.
We are destroying our kids FOR NOTHING.

Here is a new open letter from a group of infectious diseases specialists and paediatricians calling on the Ontario government to re-open schools on Monday: https://t.co/NkviljlQAJ
@frame_perfects@ottawahealth That's actually not true. Ottawa Health's COVID19 screening tool for school kids will send you for a test if your child has only a runny nose. Go ahead, try it: https://t.co/Fz0Il0N7mu
@ottawahealth You're doing less than 2000 tests / day. Unless you change your policies or increase your testing by a factor of 10, there is no way you'll be able to keep up with demand. All those school kids with common colds are going to overwhelm the system.
@ottawahealth There are ~100K school age kids in Ottawa who will get 6-12 colds/year. If u insist on them getting a test every time they have the sniffles, u will need 1 million tests. You're not even close.
