SOYEON of i-dle on blurred genre lines and K-pop’s success:
“In these days—I actually think lines between all different genres such as pop, K-pop, hyperpop, electronic, punk rock are very blurred at this point. So K-pop can sound like pop and vice versa. Having said that, as K-pop artists, when we see the success of APT and Golden... we just feel good and proud.”
Remember when SOYEON said she doesn't care anymore when people misunderstand her because those people weren't interested in understanding her in the first place ☺️
when i first got into idle and started watching their live performances, one of the first things i remember noticing was how LOUD soyeon always was (affectionate), like it was her sole goal to make it VERY clear the mics were ON. and i still love that about her so much 😭
Q. Any goals for 2025?
SOYEON: "I want us to create a real phenomenon, like, (G)I-DLE's had our moments but...should I say prime? I want to prove everything till now wasn't even our peak, I feel like we need that kind of impact, I won't feel at ease until we do it, achieving something huge as (G)I-DLE, might actually feel like taking a breather."
