Hitler: “If every single Jew voter magically disappeared tonight - in 10 years the Germany would have the best education in the world, the most affordable quality Healthcare in the world, most prosperous Middle Class, etc.
Every NDSAP vote makes one of theirs disappear!”
A boy asks Mozart how to write a symphony.
Mozart tells the boy he's too young and should study more first.
The boy says, "But you were writing symphonies at age 10."
Mozart: "But I wasn't asking people how to do it."
2 of 3. A newspaper claimed that, while Lincoln was inspecting the corpse-strewn Antietam battlefield, he suddenly slapped a companion on the knee and asked him to sing a cheerful song. "Not now, if you please," McClellan supposedly said, with a shudder.
1 of 3. Regarding @realDonaldTrump's alleged "suckers" and "losers" comments, this is an old Democrat trick. General McClellan used it while running against Lincoln in 1864. He leaked a false story about Honest Abe supposedly disrespecting the Union dead.

Just a note: under Barack Obama's foreign policy, nearly every area of the world was thrust into greater conflict, from Ukraine to Syria to Libya. Under Donald Trump's, Israel and the UAE have cut a deal, and Kosovo and Serbia just normalized economic relations.
Spread between PPI deflation (-3.1%) & import contraction (-16.7%) is wide & that is going to help domestic production as less foreign goods are coming in & therefore whatever demand you have is met with domestic goods. Import substitution = China PMIs strong despite weak imports
You may ask, if China is becoming more deflated via PPI & its export market remains weak (exports contracted in May), then how is it going to export its deflation?
Well, the answer is not exports but imports as I have argued since 2019. Look at its fall of imports from the world
Today in Asia, we got, well, Japan machine orders falling and the Philippines trade or shall I say lack of it. GDP in the Philippines will be horrible as the unemployment # shows. And this is why lock-down has been devastating. China CPI & PPI today. Eyes of course on PPI.
My colleague Jesus got a great title yesterday, and it's called Euro area Q1 GDP: Don't panic (the worst is still to come...) Anyway, Q1 was bad but we know Q2 is worse & we know that we got 20 days left. Did u see the Germany trade data? Pretty horrible. But econ data is lagging
The rallying of markets has been a billionaire bonanza & shall I say those w/ capital allocated at the right time.
The question is how long can equity price be divorced from earnings? Many PEs are rather high. Look at Korean KOSPI - all time high.
Let's look at Europe data.
Fed at 2am HKT. Basically saved the markets from the income shock collapse by going beyond and beyond as balance sheet has risen so much. Likely to stay at ZIRP, #notoNIRP is a good call & one to last. Data is improving & SPX softened but I doubt there's appetite for more easing.
But now it's June and I wonder if they still feel better from May. JOLTS job openings is worse than expected but OK. Tonight we got CPI and core CPI and real average hourly earning.
US has yet to go into deflation as core likely still 1.3%YoY in May but real CPI close to zero.
Good morning. Hard to focus on economics when people on Twitter are shouting at each other, (I think social media tends to encourage this on purpose for better "engagement").
Let's look at some of the facts/data overnight. In the US, we got small business feeling better in May.
The happiest people I know:
• Have strong family lives.
• Have regular interactions with old friends.
• Work hard.
• Have a good attitude.
• Are generous.
• Can laugh at themselves.
• Don’t require luxury to enjoy themselves.
These people make the best wealthy people.
