I’ve come understand more of myself in my time away from running. I am SO looking forward to getting back to it, but I’ve learned that I find some of the things I love about it in unexpected places like tending to my garden 🌸🌱🌻 👩🌾🪴🌞💦 🥰
Plus side to not being able to run while recovering from surgery the last 5.5 weeks: I’ve nurtured a passion and developed a gardening hobby. It brings me joy, peace and satisfaction similar to running, which surprised me but actually makes a lot of sense
The saddest form of success is realizing that the goals you achieved weren't yours at all.
In the short run, pursuing other people's dreams earns approval. In the long run, it's a recipe for regret.
A meaningful purpose doesn't maximize your status. It matches your values.
A not so hot take: Novices shouldn't worry about exercise zones or get lost in the details.
When you aren't that fit...everything is a stimulus.
And intensities blend together.
Get fit by doing lots of slow & easy...before worrying about the details too much.
A fanny pack strapped to you should not count as a bag when you board a plane. Right? Makes it so much easier to get to ID and phone/boarding pass and literally takes up no more room.
@JWLevitt I heard somewhere that creating your own word for a brand (esp if you use familiar yet unique words/sounds) is a really smart biz/marketing decision. Maybe it was @oiselle_sally who shared that? It seemed genius to me - I think it works!
