@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess People of colour endured hundreds of years of slavery, were mocked for their styles, and moved out of the way by society. and here cortis is, parading themselves around like the joke that they are.
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess POC hundreds of years of experience under their belt dealing with unfairness. and you think that just because "oh they know black people!" means that it's okay. they didn't go through what they did. and they never will. that is my issue.
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess People never get the fact that it isn't about if they’re being "disrespectful" it's that it isn't their place. POC have been pushed aside, laughed at, turned away, and shunned for their skin tone alone.
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess they’re trying to be underground rappers, but you can’t be an underground rapper if you’re from a multibillion dollar company. they are wearing black culture as a costume and benefitting from it.
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess i am genuinely so tired of this group. it’s one thing to be inspired, it’s a completely different thing just steal.
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess they’re throwing up gang signs as if they wouldn’t flinch the second they stepped into an actual black neighbourhood.
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess I don’t think that is just “music appreciation. style appreciation” they are fully TAKING. culture vultures. yeah all of K-pop is based off of black culture, everyone knows that. but there’s a difference to just wearing something as a mask and using inspiration.
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess those artists are more than capable of developing their own rapping style, even while being influenced by black rappers. but people infantilize them so much that they will position their appropriation of black culture as “inspiration”
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess those boys would not be rapping like that if they developed their own style but they are imitating!! IMITATING! the rappers they studied during training. The GP always make excuses for nonblack people imitating black culture, it's really fucking bizarre.
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess his fans are also saying that’s just how he talks, but he loses the blaccent as soon as he’s in front of his white father. it’s embarrassing.
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess I saw a video of him standing in front of a poster of himself. he went on the embarrassingly blurt something along the lines of “who is this cool SWAG dude, man?? with the glasses?? you look guuud man.”
@lilianagrengree@cch4cee@sunooeyess Martin is very known to speak in a heavy blaccent, somehow even in korean.
I’ve seen multiple clips of him.. singing their songs i guess. heavy exaggerated vowels. constantly adding “___ Man” after everything. slurring his speech.
@KotoneJiyeon@cch4cee@mayuchud @yooyeoms i’m crying you blocked me because you wanted some moral superiority. thanks for the backhanded education lesson, my bad if i was concerned for a group members health
