I’m stepping away from Twitter for good.
I’ve changed. A lot more than people probably realize. Things that used to move me just don’t anymore. That’s where I’m at.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, a lot of unlearning, a lot of figuring out where I stand.
And I can’t pretend I don’t know anymore.

Bare minimum → 10 sponsor outreaches/week.
Cold outreach has a low conversion rate by nature, so volume + persistence matters.
And whether we like it or not, LinkedIn is still the most reliable for B2B outreach in gaming/esports, more than Twitter when it comes to getting responses from decision makers.
One thing I didn’t understand early on:
Get LOIs signed before current sponsors hit renewal. (LOI = Letter of Intent. Not a contract, but a written agreement a deal is coming.)
LOIs ultimately give you breathing room:
– If a current sponsor renews → great
– If they don’t → you’re not scrambling
– Either way → the org doesn’t stall
Running an org without one some kind of pipeline is basically saying, “Hopefully something works out before this contract ends.”
Whether it’s the plan I suggested or a completely different one, any plan beats no plan.
If you run an org, sponsorships are expected to be your main revenue engine, content supports it, and merch is supplemental.
We’ll go with a 60/20/20 split for this.
Lets say your org pulls $600/month from merch (20%), then in a healthy version of this model you’re aiming for should look something like this:
$1,800/month from sponsors (60%)
$600/month from content (20%)
$600/month from merch (20%)
That’s ~$3,000/month in total revenue. From there, track weekly burn (your expenses)
If your burn is $2,700/month, you’re green.
If your burn is $3,500/month, you’re bleeding.
Don’t let the org you worked hard on die because you refused to treat it like a business.
You don’t need to be the best org in the world to make a difference, you just have to be the best org for the people who choose you.
Not the entire community.
For those who say “this is where I belong.”
To do that is surprisingly simple.
Just build around what you genuinely care about. Give a platform to the players and creators who shouldn’t need permission to exist in this space.
Show up for those who share your values.
When they care about your mission because it’s their mission too, that’s when it stops feeling like a brand and more like a home to them.
