I think there’s a lot being neglected when it comes to the Ghetto Kids. These are young Ugandans who have consistently put our country on the global stage and continue to grow the Uganda brand through their talent.

I was amazed by the energy, discipline, and professionalism they displayed at the FIFA final. Yet it made me wonder if they had been from Rwanda, would they have received even greater national recognition and support?

Uganda needs to start adopting and supporting brands like the Ghetto Kids. Talent alone isn’t enough; it needs investment, promotion, and a clear strategy. These young people are powerful ambassadors for our country, and supporting them is an investment in Uganda’s global image.

We have reached this place, and it’s clear how major events help local communities make money.

When demand for accommodation is high, even local residents can earn extra income by turning their unused rooms into guest accommodation. Some families have four or five spare rooms that would otherwise sit empty, but during events like the Rwenzori Marathon, they become a valuable source of income.

This is how sports tourism directly benefits local communities by creating business opportunities beyond hotels and lodges.

Tomorrow, I’ll show you how the people of Fort Portal are also making money from these events.

Woke up at 530am, left home 610am and was in Entebbe by 7am , 830am gave a talk to CPA group until 920am, drove to Kampala for work.

After speaking, I then appreciate that God is in this, the reaction of the audience, the laughter , the silence when needed, the appreciation.
