On This Date - Dec. 1, 1971 - @IndianaMBB play its first-ever game in Assembly Hall, defeating Ball State, 84-77, in front of 14,853. Steve Downing grabs 26 rebounds, which is still the arena record. The game is also the first on the sidelines for new IU coach Bob Knight.
