Holy crap. I just had a conversation with an animal control officer who was sent to our house because someone claimed that our dogs had no shelter from the June sun.
He took one look at the ample shelter they have in all three of our paddocks and laughed.
He and I had a pleasant conversation for several minutes, discussing goats, geese, and miniature donkeys. We shook hands and he drove off.
It was hard for me to contain the anger that was bubbling up inside of me - not at the officer, but at the person who called in yet another complaint about me to law enforcement.
To the individual who thinks it is okay to continue harassing us this way, who thinks that law enforcement is nothing more than your cudgel to bludgeon us just because we choose to live our lives on our own property differently than you think we should - you Stasi in your would-be country club - know this: your days of bullying me and my family are over.
I know you are reading these posts of mine. So let me break something down for you. You are not yet famous. Why? Because I have been protecting you. I have extended you a grace that you would never extend me.
Even now - even after your latest failed attempt to bully me and my family - I will continue to protect you. I will continue to show grace to you. But my patience is wearing very thin.
Remember that next time you pick up the phone to call the police over something laughable and picayune.
And you know what? My dog's coming home. Nothing you can do about it. Deal with it.

Bit of a long shot but are there any vendors or manufacturers who could help us out? 🙏 We only need a small model and a refurb would be fine. Or perhaps you can offer a discount…

💔 Taz is scared, and you can see it in his eyes.
Found roaming the streets alone, this sweet 2-year-old now spends his days trembling in a shelter kennel, unsure of what comes next. He doesn't bark for attention or beg to be noticed. He simply sits quietly, hoping someone will give him a chance.
🥺 When his kennel door opened, Taz didn't try to run. He just sat there shaking, trying to understand why he was there.
Taz needs a foster or adopter before shelter stress takes a bigger toll on him. Fostering is FREE, and all supplies are provided.

I’m calling it a day peeps…I leave you with two puppies NYCACC has kill listed for Thursday…Juniper, one year old, and Luna, a ten month old puppy.
What have we become? Our throw away behavior has now been assigned to living beings…the most loyal of all animals on this planet…pups….
Would they do us dirty? Would they starve us? Dump us in communal housing to die? Would they neglect, abuse, make us fight for our supper….
When humans finally die off and leave the earth to recover, how will we be remembered—a species who deserved our demise or a species who was good to all living beings?
I’d like the later to be the answer…we can change human behavior and do better…make amends to our collective bad deeds and change now…don’t dump your pups in a municipal pound because they’ll die…
Hug your pups if you have them….
🚨 URGENT: LEE NEEDS OUT NOW
Lee can be pulled at any moment, and time is running out for this deserving boy.
Shelter life is incredibly hard on Lee. While some dogs adjust to the constant noise, chaos, and uncertainty, Lee is struggling. He's overwhelmed, scared, and shut down. Because of that, the dog people see in his kennel isn't the real Lee.
Yesterday, volunteers took their time earning his trust and getting a leash on him. Once outside, the change was almost immediate. The moment Lee felt the sunshine and fresh air, his entire demeanor transformed. His tail wagged nonstop, he trotted happily to the play yard, and for the first time, we saw the sweet, joyful dog hidden beneath all that fear. 🥹
Lee isn't a bad dog. He's a scared dog.
