Whatever your thoughts on woke, beyond all doubt this is not going back in the bottle. The old ways of enforcing it are gone, and the attempt to do so will only hasten the demise. The worry - and we're already seeing it - is the reaction goes too far. I fear for my country.
Lord Grade is right!
[Former Ofcom chairman] Lord Grade said: “I honestly think they're (@GBNEWS' critics) embarrassed by the fact that there is a news organisation that has a different news agenda to them, that speaks to the agenda of the majority — if you look at the polls, a large swathe of the voting population, who have no voice on the BBC...
"Immigration, Brexit, these are all issues that don't get the weight on the BBC, or haven't been able to, that GB News will give, so what's the problem?"
"... The same rules apply to GB News as apply to the BBC, Sky, ITN, whoever. Because GB News make different editorial choices necessarily on each news day from the BBC, ITN or Sky, doesn't make it wrong."

They are campaigning for themselves not the people of Makerfield. I dont mind Burnham at all but this isnt right its the same old Labour Party using working class people as meal tickets for their own careers its very Blairite its very Mandelson
Kenyon is hardly alone. Millions of working-class voters in Red Wall constituencies once voted Labour but are now voting Reform. Why does the Labour press team consider this a revelation? Where have they been for the past 20 years?
White working-class boys have been abandoned by a political class that cares more about ‘diversity being our strength’ and DEI. They are consistently ignored, belittled and shamed.
We need to call this what it is, anti-white racism.
The drive to pander to minority communities has completely undermined and pushed aside white working-class boys and their families. When English children are taught to hate themselves and their country because of the colour of their skin and told to apologise for their ‘privilege’ is it any wonder so many feel worthless and don’t do well at school?
It is a travesty that so much talent is being wasted and that so much aspiration has been crushed.
Only Reform UK will fix this decline and give our forgotten boys the hope and change they so desperately need.
One of the problems Labour continue to face is its MPs looking at its own wc ex-voters, who may aspire to be Reform politicians & seeing "reprobates and knuckle draggers". "Not all...but a high proportion" - how v generous! NB a high proportion of lanyard class = sneering snobs
This is a bizarrely-long BBC news item, which uncritically promotes a niche TV show on a rival network.
The show is about ... how people online are spreading hatred targeting the 'LGBT community', by which it means drag queens and trans activists.
Andy Burnham has long benefited from abject, fawning coverage by the local paper, the Manchester Evening News - but it will harm him in the end. My piece for the Spectator.

@eNeecie Every other day a new motorhome appears in my mother-in-law's drive and Neil hands me another bucket full of jewellery and cosmetics. I can only assume he's got himself a part time job I'm too busy to ask about.
Privately educated upper middle-class Indian bloke pretends he’s a poverty stricken gender-less peasant. Who would’ve guessed that someone who lies about his sex would also lie about his upbringing. Wadhwa 2.0

Towns like Wigan have never fully recovered from the deindustrialisation that occurred 40/50 yrs ago. So this is not just ‘Labour nostalgia.’ Wigan is reliant on public-sector employment, logistics/warehousing, lower-wage service work, fiscal transfers from central government
Gordon Macondald was brought up in Makerfield, left school at 13, and worked down the mines.
He became the local Labour MP in 1929 (constituency was called Ince at the time) until Attlee appointed him a colonial governor. He later served in Attlee's Cabinet.
A more working-class member than any member of Starmer's supposedly 'most working-class Cabinet ever'!
Sky News forgot to mention that they are all Afghan illegal immigrants
A bit of honesty about what’s happening would help
Hiding the truth is how the mainly Pakistani-origin grooming gang scandal was covered up for so long
Very dark psychology underlying this (sadly common in politics) view, the disdain for your own countrymen to the extent that you’d prefer them to disappear, replaced with random Third Worlders. (Also lol at the economic growth comment after our experiment these last 5 years.)
'I literally vomited when I heard his 'far right' response to Southport'
Labour peer Maurice Glasman says Keir Starmer's reaction to Southport was an early indication of the prime minister's progressive mind and his belief that anyone that doesn't agree with you is an extremist.

The mass migration experiment has been run for 30 years and delivered nothing but poor growth, stagnant GDP per capita and decaying public services.
Turns out, admitting hundreds of thousands of people who will never be net contributors has "an adverse affect on the economy".
Let’s stop hearing from real voters so we can hear more from policy academics (who write reports) and partisan talking head pundits (who are endorsing them)
Net migration has fallen to… a city the size of Norwich, every year.
The mad Boriswave is the only reason this level is considered a “low”.
@ShabanaMahmood is restoring fairness and control to our immigration system.
Lost for words. Never thought I’d see a British govt trying to set food prices. If there is one highly competitive sector it is food retailing.
Do we really want to live in a country where the state sets these prices?
