Free speech HURTS
But it hurts way less than when the boomerang of suppression whacks you in the chops.
@Newsforce team on fire on the issue of our day
🚨 WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! THE DANGERS OF TURNING SPEECH RESTRICTIONS INTO A WEAPON
@PaddyNey told viewers on WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! that suppressing political opponents can create a long-term backlash that affects everyone, not just one side:
“When you ban your enemies, you cheer… but when it comes back the other way, you realize the same tools can be used on you. That boomerang comes back and hits you in the face.”

@WarMonitor3 Not sure where you’re getting this from. There’s been no national soft PR campaign from Poland.
However, Polish people are indeed NIESAMOWICI! ❤️🇵🇱❤️
On a panel with former British Prime Minister @trussliz , MP @FDW_VB, right-wing political activist @JoeyMannarino and our Host @paddyney in the European Parliament debating the future of UK and Europe. Full discussion dropping soon. @Newsforce
WARNING: Incredibly distressing footage.
The bodycam footage has finally been released of Henry Nowak’s last moments.
He was the victim, but treated like a criminal.
“I can’t breathe” he says, over and over again.
Instead of helping him the police arrest him on false charges of racism.
Harrowing.
It’s hard to escape the conclusion he was treated differently because he was white.
‼️WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! ITALY DOWNPLAYED A TERROR ATTACK
A man drives into shoppers in Modena, leaves multiple people critically injured, and had previously sent emails threatening to burn Jesus on the cross. Italian authorities say it’s a mental health crisis, not terrorism.
@paddyney breaks down what happened, the warnings that were ignored, and why the official explanation doesn’t fully add up.
02:30 - The Modena attack and the emails
05:42 - Italian exceptionalism
07:46 - The mental health explanation
10:07 - The Italy that is disappearing
13:15 - How the media framed it
I'll tell you why I like this advert. It takes for granted that the audience will have an implicit distastes of the listed countries. It takes for granted the love of personal privacy, the right to independent thought, and the right to speak as your conscience commands. It takes for granted that, at least implicitly, readers believe the West has the moral superiority in the world.
Decades of moral relativism being rammed down people's throats has not irradiated the implicit sense that the West is, in fact, better than a lot of other places.
