@RorySmith It's a good book. Just because you've gone George Orwell on the statistical revolution doesn't make it less so.
I recommend it to Americans all the time who get moneyball but don't get soccer.
@RorySmith Ha! Missed that one. There's been a lot of content lately. You might have even talked about it on Libero but after Wilson spent 10 minutes on the history of soccer in 1930's New Jersey, I may have nodded off
@dilanesper The organization that put the World Cup in Russia and Qatar has questionable motivations?? An international sporting body?? No way! I'd be shocked if it was otherwise.
@TwinsAlmanac Maybe I don't understand your criteria but Drew Gilbert was born in St Paul and played at Stillwater HS and debuted last year. Michael Busch was born in Inver Grove Hts and played at Simley and debuted in 2023.
@adrianmckinty Just finished it this weekend. It is my favorite one so far.
"... had a heart to heart with the Virgin. I know I know I f_cking know, okay."
I subscribe to Sean's faith.
@HPBAac "all of my entry level course work done". That sentence is doing a lot of work in theory. What does that actually look like in practice? What percent of kids who start playing baseball at a JUCO are getting a bachelor's in four years or even 5 years? 5%? 10%?
@sirhlyon@JeffFletcherOCR Single, Single, Single, batted ball hits base runner x 3 for offensive interference. Batter is awarded a hit but runners do not advance (score). The probability of it happening is 0 but its the theoretical max.
@natehoodstp@Mowing_Hosta They don't just threaten. There are schools in St Paul that could fill a school bus with kids from 2-3 blocks in Mendota Hts.
The city, county, and public school levies are unsustainable.
