Akbayan Party expresses its full support for the establishment of a Philippine Truth Commission on the War on Drugs, joining Cardinal Ambo David, civil society organizations, and justice advocates in the call to uncover the truth behind the campaign’s widespread human rights violations. The proposed commission seeks to investigate and document the atrocities committed, deliver justice for the victims of extrajudicial killings (EJKs), and pave the way for genuine national healing and accountability.

“Corruption kills—and the worst corruption that we suffered is the corruption that directly kills the people in the form of the war on drugs. The war on drugs was not only illegal or immoral, it was also anti-poor,” said Cardinal Ambo David.

Akbayan Party President Rafaela David highlighted one of the key questions that the Truth Commission shall answer: “Ang tanong - how were the killings funded? Was it paid for by people's money and corruption?"

"Hindi sapat na nasa ICC si Duterte. All those who pulled the trigger, paid the reward, and implemented this crime against humanity must be identified, tried, and jailed. Meanwhile, all those who were killed, abused, and tortured must not be forgotten." David emphasized.

This is not just a matter of compliance, but a commitment to openness and honesty in public service.

Paliwanag nila, malaki ang naging expectation nila sa “to-do list�� ng Pangulo. Wala rin umanong “major accomplishments” si Pres. Marcos sa tatlong taon niya sa panunungkulan.

“We will closely await until he releases the flood control ghost projects list, and we will vigilantly monitor the budget process to ensure his pronouncements do not remain as empty promises,” saad ng grupo.

“Kinapos sa mga isyu ng dagdag-sweldo, pagbalik natin sa ICC, pagpapanagot sa mga Duterte, pagdepensa sa West Philippine Sea, at pagkontrol sa krisis ng e-sugal,” anila.

'DAPAT NA NATING I-CUT OFF ANG TOXIC FRIENDS NATIN'

Itinutulak ng tinaguriang "West Philippine Sea (WPS) bloc" ng Kamara ang isang resolusyong naghihikayat sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) na imbestigahan ang sister city agreements ng local government units ng Pilipinas kasama ang China.

Sa House Resolution No. 39, layon ng mga mambabatas na pakanselahin ang mga kasunduan kung salungat ito sa national security interests ng Pilipinas.

"Kung walang pakinabang at puro pahamak lang sa ating national interest ang dulot ng mga agreement, the government must cancel them immediately," sabi ni Akbayan Rep. Perci Cendaña.
