@twistofkate700@CanadyTamar@SketchesbyBoze My children were out for two years and now are schooled online. They are ahead of their peers and are actively creative. One is a reader. However their friends who have been infected over and over are dumber and sick all the time. I know if which I speak .
A thread of what everyday life used to look like in the United States of America ๐บ๐ธ
1. Average American family in Detroit, Michigan, 1954. A house, car, and enough to support a family, all on a Ford factory worker's wages!
@CovidSolidarit1 Iโm over on bsky. Iโm done fighting with the asshats here. All these folks that make one not want attention will get what they get, will likely throw a fit, but by themselves. Iโm busy growing food and holding space for the victims I can help.
Y'all like eating, right? Like, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks. The cost of food is going to skyrocket, IS ALREADY SKYROCKETING due to (waves vaguely...all this) and it is only going to get a LOT worse. Which means a lot of us are going to have to learn to grow stuff.
@naretevduorp If I didnโt have kids, it would be no question. My family has been here since 1640 and it rankles to leave this place in the hands of dictators.
@naretevduorp I work for a UK company and am exploring options to move there. I also speak fluent German and could potentially move there. Shit is going to get nasty globally, so that might not be great. Looking to hunker down on rural land with family and friends.
You know why these Nazis are so mad about being called Nazis? Because they thought once they won they'd have the power and the rest of us would submit and finally respect them or at least fear them. But I don't respect them or fear them, so I'm going to keep calling them Nazis.
The world makes a lot more sense if you recognize that most people, even people who vote the same as you, are credulous hapless confused prigs who act primarily out of self-interest, no matter what ideology they spout in public to make people think they're virtuous.
@wsperuzzi@jzellis If the AMOC goes, all bets are off, but the farthest the last glaciers got was the lakes. So. I chose western Pennsylvania in the mountains with a good water catch system.
@wsperuzzi@jzellis Based on my research, your best bets are the northwestern side of the appalachians, preferably in top of a ridge, the Great Lakes region (unless the AMOC goes), a small part of the Pacific Northwest after most of the forests are ash. Northeast will flood a lot.
@wsperuzzi@jzellis Southeast will be unliveable without more power than probable, ocean facing sides of Appalachians will have flooding, southwest was already covered. Pacific Northwest will have some issues but will have water. Bad air until trees gone.
โThe last 8 cat 4 or cat 5 hurricanes that have made landfall have occurred in the last 8 years. The last 8 before that occurred over the course of 56 years. If that doesnโt tell you something is up, I donโt know what will.โ - guy on the weather channel. Weโre so fucked man
@anticommie97@Dreadful4Tymes If you really donโt understand the history of these terms and the power (or lack in the funny terms for our people) of their usage, please climb in and go read a damn book. Your racism is showing.
