Officially halfway through maternity leave (6wks).
How do women return to work at this point or even earlier???
My body is still healing.
Showers are rare, meals eaten cold, sleep not happening.
What we do to postpartum women in the US is insane & inhumane.
To my residency program,
I hope you were stoked to see my name today. I’ve wanted to be #EMbound for almost a decade. I have a lot to learn, and admittedly I’m pretty nervous… but I’m ready. And I can’t wait to learn from you.
Cheers,
Your future PGY-1
#Match2023
As the first doctor in my family, this day felt so far away. I’m so excited to see how the rest of the week unfolds. So grateful for everyone’s continued support and here’s a link to my #MGWL23 if anyone would like to help with this transition. https://t.co/UCxltJcC1Q
I actually kinda worry about the soap ppl. EM is brutal w/ high burn/depression rates for those who wanted to match the specialty. Post-Covid with 1/6 spots filled by those who didn’t initially desire it I fear will lead to skyrocketing burnout/depression and attrition.
Match Week begins in 14 hours and I’m feeling all the things. Excited, nervous, hopeful and most of all at peace knowing that I’ve done the work and now just have to let the rest unfold #EMbound#Match2023
@medgradwishlist Can’t believe I’m less than a week out from match week and will soon be finding out where I’ll spend the next 3 years. Grateful for @medgradwishlist and those supporting everyone! #EMbound https://t.co/UCxltJcC1Q
