Things to know about Dengue

Transmission - Dengue Virus is transmitted through a mosquito bite (Aedes Aegypti Mosquito)
There are 4 strains of the virus, and usually, a second infection with a different strain elicits a severe infection.

At any point, if you feel like your symptoms are not improving or you can’t manage them at home, seek medical attention

Based on guidelines, you usually do NOT need a platelet transfusion unless platelets fall below 10,000 or you spontaneously bleed from anywhere.

Bad idea: For ~90% of patients a CT is NOT needed. Get PCR to diagnose and CT if you’re sick enough to require oxygen/hospital

Many other disease mimic COVID on CT

If COVID test is - and suspicion high, just quarantine for 10d
